My DH's birthday is Dec 3rd and we will be going to Disney Dec 9-15th. Would it be bad if I tell them that we are celebrating DH's birthday even though it's a week later that we will be there? I wonder how much my DH would mind if he had to wear a "Birthday" button around WDW :lmao: :lmao:
I'm sure the kids would get a kick out of it!

What do you all think?

Everyone will have their own personal views and flames on this topic. I say since it's within a week I say go for it. It's not like there are many months inbetween. Hope you have a great trip. BTW- Tell him happy birthday.

Go for it! He will enjoy it and so will disney. You might think about surprising him with a basket fro www.memoriesbysarah.com. I used her twice and she is awesome. I surprised my dh with a basket this last trip and he (surprisingly) was tickled by it. Have fun!

i don't think it is a problem at all. even when people are not at disney they celebrate when it is convienient, not always the actual day- for example having a birthday party on saturday when the real birthday is tuesday, etc....have fun!

There have been several posts asking this question in the past, and from what I've read it isn't a big deal. I say go for it & enjoy your vacation & your DH's birthday :)

Not meaning to hijack this thread-i'm a new DISer-what is the purpose of the B-day pin's? Is it just for the 'fun' of wearing them? Thank you!!!

We are going Sept 14-23 and dd6's bday is the 15th and mine is the 22nd. We will also be celebrating dd3's bday which is 8/21 and dh's bday which is 10/3. I have picked out the meals that we will celebrate each one at and I am considering ordering small cakes for each of us. So I say go for it. This past Dec when we went our original trip was scheduled during my MIL's bday but we had to move our trip up by two weeks so we still celebrated.

I say do it and have a blast. Disney likes to help celebrate special occasions. It just adds to the magic. My dh and I always go for our anniversary which is in August. But we can't go in August so we celebrate it in February when we can go. This last trip the cm asked if there was anything special and I answered it was our 32 wedding anniversary. She asked "no birthdays?". I answered the cm that we both were turning 50 so change the occasion from the anniversary to the birthdays. When we checked in to our hotel there were two sets of pins. We each had a birthday pin and an anniversary pin. So the first part of the week we celebrated turning 50 and the last part of the trip we celebrated 32 years of marriage. We had a blast. It added to the memories.

Thanks for asking the question. I was wondering that myself. Our last day at WDW will be on Sofia's birthday but I wondered if we could celebrate it a few days before when we have princess dinner reservations. It looks like that will be ok!

Probably the biggest "purpose" is that a LOT of the cast members will wish you a Happy Birthday. Sometimes, if you're lucky, you might get something special like a cupcake with a candle when you have a reservation at one of the restaunts. :cake:

as a PP stated this is a common post and most say the same thing...GO FOR IT!
Matter of fact yesterday was my DS 7th birthday and we are celebrating when we go in just a lil over two weeks. He is excited and is hoping to have Mickey of one of the gang tell him Happy Birthday!

can you be any age to get a birthday button? I'll be ther on my birthday I totally want a birthday button lol I'll be 19

We have always gone on either my DS or DH's birthdays (at times both). Let them know at check-in and they will send you balloons and a b-day card within your stay to your room (they weren't delivered right on there b-days so I don't think Disney would mind if it wasn't the actual day as long as its reasonbly recent). Also, go to City Hall at MK to get a B-day pin. You'll get special desserts at some of the sit down resturants and the cast at members within the parks will wish you a happy b-day too! If your at a performance and they see the b-day pin, you have a better chance of getting selected as a volunteer.

Of course you can get a bday button. It's not just for children. Celebrate & have a great time!!! :)

I prob won't get one, but just asked anyway, I hate when people say happy birthday to me and I get attention lol
