princess: We're celebrating my daughter's first birthday in Disney on March 19....anything cool I should know about? We leave March 16, and we're so excited! We have reservations at Hoop dee du revue on her birthday.

Both of my DS's will be celebrating a birthday while at WDW. Be sure to get the birthday badges from guest services at the park you will be visiting that day. I also plan on ordering a gift basket from feralpeg here on these boards. We are also doing the carriage ride at POR.

Can you tell me more about the gift basket? My daughter also share my brother's birthday, and he'll be there with us! A general birthday gift basket for the two of them might be nice! :)

We celebrated my daughter's 3rd birthday at Disney in September. We went to guest services and got her a "It's My Birthday" button. We also had a birthday dinner at Chef Mickey's. They give the birthday person a free placemat and a cupcake for dessert. The characters come over to the table and help sing happy birthday.

I also read about someone from the DIS boards who had a T-shirt made up that basically said something like "today is my birthday" for their child and brought a laundry pen for the characters to sign her shirt.

Can you get a birthday badge on a day other than the actual birthday? We are arriving in Florida on March 14th which is her birthday, but we will be visiting WDW on the 16th. I was thinking of just picking up a ribbon that said "I'm the birthday girl" before we left, but a Disney badge would be nicer :umbrella: .

Kerri :flower:

p.s. We ordered a cake to have with our dinner birthday at the GF Cinderella's Gala Feast. We are headed there on the day we arrive. I originally called the number they give you when you make your PS, but they only offer basic birthday cakes (ie. choc. or white with same icing all over and in the middle). They transferred me over to the bakery direct and they take your order there. So I ordered a chocolate cake with custard and strawberries in the middle and then white buttercream icing with some strawberries on top!! Sounds good ... definitely not South Beach friendly!!

I ordered a couple of personalized shirts from the Disney catalog and had them put "My Birthday celebration at Disney World". The shirts were $10 at that time.
About the gift baskets. She has tons of choices. Do a search for feralpeg and pm her. She will direct you to a site that has pictures of the baskets, and her prices. I'm ordering the Pirates of the Caribbean basket as soon as I hear back from my AAA agent.

If she hasn't already had her first haircut and you are planning to do so around a year old...I suggest having it done at MK. She will get a certificate showing that it is her first haircut and they will make it a very special ocassion out of it! Plus...I Hoop Dee Du Revue may not be the best choice for a first birthday (although great fun for parents!). I would suggest either Chef Mickey's for dinner or Cinderella's Castle for a special breakfast with the princesses!

We are having breakfast at Cinderella's castle that day! I should call and add that it's her b-day to the reservation!

Tell me more about her first haircut in Disney...I've been toying with getting her haircut....but that would be WAY cool! :)

I know hoop dee due isn't perfect for a 1 year olds birthday, but it's also my brother's birthday! :)

As long as you are doing the castle in the morning for you Daughter, then your Brother will enjoy his birthday celebration at the Hoop Dee Doo Revue!

As far as getting your Daughter's hair done at the Harmony Barbershop on Main Street you can call there for any information at (407) 824-6550. You don't necessarily need to get her hair cut they also offer pixie dust and temporairy coloring. You may even be lucky enough to have the barbershop quartet stop by to sing a little Happy Birthday! I'm not sure if they still take reservations or not, but if they do, I would certainly mention that it will be your daughter's first birthday and first haircut!!!

You guys will have a great time! We are trying to plan a June trip to celebrate my Son's 5th birthday and my Husbands 40th. Cannot think of anywhere better to be for you birthday!!!!
