We're DLR vets, but for those of you who have celebrated a young one's birthday, give me all you got!!

My dd :cake: is turning 4 on Feb 12- we will be there the 10-12. We're AP holders, so we know the ropes with the park, and go often enough that nothing is a "must" for us- but I'd like to know tips you all have on making this extra special for her. We have friends hopefully joining us in the park on Sunday to help her celebrate.

While she loves DLR, she's bummed she's not having a birthday party- PumpitUp was booked solid the whole month. So, we want to make this extra special for her!

Thanks!

Just had DS #5 B-Day at Pump it up last weekend, so I know what you mean.

We're taking him Sunday (his real B-Day) and have a PS for the Birthday Celebration at the Plaza Inn. We're planning on stopping at City Hall to get him a birthday pin to assure he'll get lots of "Happy Birthdays" all day.

For a little girl, I've heard that Club Libby Lu can provide a special day memory. There seems to be a 50-50 split on the Princess Faire.

For dd's 5th birthday last year, we went to DL. We booked a libby lu makeover and had dinner at Ariel's grotto. We did the Plaza Inn birthday party as well as the Discover the Magic Tour. The whole trip was just magical. We're going back next month cause ds wants to spend his 9th birthday there like his sister did.

The Plaza Inn Birthday Party is ideal for kids that age. My nieces did that for their 5th and loved it and we took my daughter for her 8th. Each person gets to decorate their own cake plus each person gets punch (with free refills) in a little cup they can keep. This funny guy named Pat E. Cake runs the whole thing and little kids generally think he's a hoot. Usually Mickey and Minnie appear at the end to get pictures made with the birthday kids. Its $10 per person and you do get the AP discount there. You can make reservations, they generally have two seatings a day in the afternoon.

And of course you can't beat Goofy's for a birthday and they do sell princess birthday buckets for the kids at any of the character meals.

If you tell room service like the night before that you want to order a birthday cake they will bring one to the room with candles and plates. We had one at the GC for my son's second b-day and it was great. They made it look like a present and I think it was only like 39 dollars. I would say that would be a great part of the day.
