Hey Everyone, I am wondering if anyone knows of any discounts for hotels for Cedar Point, or if anyone knows of a promotion code for Orbitz? If you know anything I would greatly appreciate it.

I dont know about codes, but I usually stay at Breakers Express for around $60 a night. It's clean, nice, and has queen beds (my husband is 6' 4" a major advantage). Staying at Breakers Express allows you early entry to the park, but does not include free parking. You can check the rates by going to www.CedarPoint.com and then click on resorts. It is Breakers EXPRESS, not Breakers.

Also, If you are near any other Cedar Fair park (Dorney Park, Valleyfair, Worlds of Fun, Michigan's Adventure, Geauga Lake, Knott's Berry Farm) a season pass to any of those parks will get you into Cedar Point for free.

I usually go to Cedar Point once a summer (have done so for the past five years atleast) and would be happy to help you if I can.

You can order a Cedar Point planner booklet off of their website. It has coupons and discounts into the park too. However, $60 for the Breakers Express sounds very reasonable (especially in the summer). The CP booklets offers 2-4-1 twilight specials and other discounts.

There aren't going to be any discounts during the peak summer months. We're going Friday-Monday for the second time this summer, and both times our room at Hotel Breakers (not to be confused with Breakers Express) has been over $200/night. However, the convenience is TOTALLY worth it. You can walk to the park, plus on-site guests get in one hour before opening.

All of the other hotels in Sandusky are pretty expensive ($100-150+ per night) and none of them are more than 2 star, not to mention you have to drive yourself to CP and pay to park.

If you can go in May or October, sometimes there are some Castaway Bay discounts, and Breakers Express is pretty cheap year round. But they don't put out any "codes" or anything like WDW does. Try going to the CP website and looking at their packages.

Can you tell us more about the Hotel Breakers? We've never been to Cedar Point but are planning a first trip (we're a coaster family!). The reviews we've read on this hotel are very mixed: some people love it, others hate it -- but no one ever seems to give actual details about the place.

How does it stack up to Castaway Bay? (I think that's the name of the newer hotel.) Any advice would be appreciated!

Breakers Express is a Cedar Point hotel and you also can get into the park one hour before the official opening (although only a few of the rides are actually open - usually the big coasters!) That is a perk for all Cedar Point property guests. Breakers Express guests can also park for free at Cedar Point.

I would definitely look into packages at Breakers Express (or any of the other Cedar Point properties.) A friend of mine and I usually go up every year and we get 2 nights at Breakers Express, 2 Starlight passes for Cedar Point, 2 all day admissions to Cedar Point, breakfast each morning, free parking at the parks and other discounts for less than $150 each!!!

Can someone explain Cedar Point to me... I get the water park/ amusement park but what is the challenge park? And is there another amusement park nearby? I think I recall that there is when watching some travel channel show- This looks like a great park for the roller coaster lovers in my family but I am confused on what type of ticket we would have to buy? It seems very reasonable in price relative to what we have around here(even Dorney is more expensive- but you get both water park and amusement in one)

Challenge Park is kind of an add on to Cedar Point, it has mini-golf, Skycoaster (I believe 150 foot drops you in a combination bungi jump/skydive) and go-karts. Its a pay extra attraction. My advice is just to stick with Cedar Point itself.

There are no other parks persay in Sandusky, OH, but definitly give yourself a few days at Cedar Point atleast. Kings Island (used to be Paramount Kings Island) in Cinncinnati is another very nice park as well.

I have stayed at Breakers and Breakers Express. And while its nice to be able to just walk to the park in the mornings and evenings, Breakers really needs a face lift, the rooms arn't that great. Plus its is VERY expensive, around $200 a night. Rooms are much less expensive in the Bon Aire section and that is the old section that has no elevators, the rooms are very small, and wouldn't recommend staying there.

Breakers Express is much less expensive, you still get to take part in the early entry, and while you do have to pay parking the rooms are in much better condition, and you are still very close (driving wise) to the park.

I have only stayed on the strip once (non cedar point owned hotel) and wouldn't do it again, it was the Econo Lodge which we payed $90 a night for and it was a dump.
