Has anyone been to Cedar Point's HalloWeekend?
When I was there this summer, they had the hearse out advertising it. I've never been, but was wondering if it was any good incase I decide to go sometime in the future.

YES! Just got back from Halloweekends a few weeks ago and we went last year for it too. It's a lot of fun and probably my favorite time of year to go up there. Not sure if you're traveling with kids or not but they have several things that kids of all ages can enjoy. When we went up there we were with 2 other adults and a 10 year old boy and an 8 year old girl. A few of the haunted houses may be too scary for some kids but the two we were with enjoyed all of them. Fright Zone is really fun but might be too intense for a really young child. If you do decide to go, check out Cedar Point's Halloweekends page to get more information. You can PM me if you want more info on what's going up there for this.

Yep! Just went 2 weekends ago. IT WAS A BLAST!!! A blast and a half even. :) I refused to go into the haunted houses (I give points to the most creative named house- carn-EVIL!) but the lines were certainly sizable for them! Definately go!! 2 of my sorority sisters and I went and loved every minute of it. There's things for people of any age (and scardy cat level ;)). PM me if you have any more questions.

either i have spoiled from universal and disney halloweens. I was disappointed in CP's halloween nites. Yes its decorated awesome. but i thought the carn evil was lame and the fright zone.l:o .. We did find a cool haunted place on route 250, called ghoslty manor..
its was also freezing there this weekend, yeap spoiled at universal where you can walk round in shortsl.:Pinkbounc

We just went on the weekend of Sept 24th.....we have went every year since 1999 for Halloweekends and it is always a GREAT time. We camp there in the CP campground with another couple and their kids....the past couple years it has grown to another couple and their kids and a few visitors.

We wouldn't miss it for the world...the crowds aren't bad at all the the haunted houses/paths are scary...IMHO. We took one of the kids friends with us (9 yo) and she freaked out on the haunted path (Fright Zone) and I was alone with the 3 kids!!! I previously went through Carn-Evil and just about peed my pants!!!! It was REALLY scary to me!!!! Anyway, one of the monsters noticed that Hannah was so scared that we got "escorted" out by the monster. Before hand he sat us down on a bench and showed Hannah that he was "just pretend".

We have a great time every year we go....the kids are already talking about next years trip!!!

Ohhhhh, I miss Cedar Point. :(

Year after year, without exception, Cedar Point is voted the best amusement park in the world (readers of Amusement Today magazine). It is a massive, thrill-ride oriented park much different than what you would find in Orlando, with giant, record-breaking coasters catering to a bit of a younger crowd, although they do have a fine children's area. It is also a full-fledged resort, with hotels, cabins, pools, beaches, restaurant and bars - even tennis courts "on point" - that is, the park itself - a peninsula in Lake Erie, joined to the "mainland" by a narrow strip of land called the causeway. It is as beautiful a setting for an old-fashioned amusement park as you can find.

I too agree Halloweekends is the best time of year to go. Fridays are particularly fun - although they are only open from 6-11PM, crowds are light and you can do a lot. But remember, CP is NOT a theme park. Sure, they have haunted houses and fright zones, but their claim to fame is rides, not theming or decorations. Expect Disney or Universal and you will be disappointed. However, if you're into some chills - both scary and weather-related - along the most insane collection of coasters ever assembled, there is no better place on earth ...

Couldn't have said it better myself spewey ::yes::
