Cedar Point-Exceptional Size Guidelines????

I used to get seasons pass to cedar point .. until I put on weight because of a medical problem.

I avoided going for a while then lost about 50 lbs last year so last summer I was about 190 and a size 16. Rides were not always comfy, but i fit. It was nice not to worry... I'm about 5'9".

My friend who was with me is a bit rounder (I'm more oval.. lol).. and she was sent off the blue streak. It broke her heart. It was a tight fit for me and I had a hard time with the belt.

I will disagree with posters saying the over the shoulder hold is not an issue. I'm a 40DD chest size and it IS an issue... in fact, I avoid those rides more than the lap belts.. so again, it does depend on your body type. I've seen MANY people sent off because of the over the shoulder restraint that are built like me.

I've since gained back my weight.. and haven't gone to CP again. Luckily my DBF hates coasters so when we go for hallow weekends (my favorite) i can jsut avoid the embaressment. There is SO much more to do at CP than coasters. even when I was "small" enough to ride them we barely did because the lines are obnoxious. The shows and other attractions fill the day!

So don't let this deter you from going. There ARE test seats although I'd never try them.. they are located right at the front of the line.. too "out in the open" for me. I like the idea of a special area to try them, away from crowds.

I'm heartbroken over my weight gain as is.. this is why I avoid amusement parks for now.. I don't need it thrown in my face any more then it already is. I find myself looking at people getting off rides wondering if they are bigger or smaller than me and if I should even try.

Disney is the one place I don't have to think twice. In fact at my BIGGEST I was terrified to try Space Mountain.. NOT an issue.. and I was wearing a 22 at the time:)

I'm a big guy, not to tall, not to fat, but a big guy. And the only thing that was an issue at cedar point was the Power Tower. My partner and I put the thing over weight... and had to wait till the next ride, so they could balance the weight. Other wise, with some effort I fit on every ride.

Oh yeah I know from working at a former paramount park that those over the shoulder retraints are an issue for top heavy people.
For me I just never had an issue because I am bottom heavy.
I could not think of a way to describe myself but flippng thru a mag last night I saw a pic of American Idol winner, JOrdon Sparks.
I am the same body type, bottom heavy. She is about 15 pounds heavier but that is my body type.
I just had the issue with MF, belt shut but was tight.

I was at CP on Monday and a lot of people were having to sit in the test seat before lining for MF.
I was not asked to. I had been very worried I would not be able to ride but I actually had about 4 inches of slack on the first train.
We went on again later and a different train had less slack, about 2 inches.
They are not uniform. :(

I've been to CP once, but I would definitely like to go again. It is a great park, especially if you are a coaster fanatic like me.

As far as their size limitations, I would much rather be told I couldn't ride than to ride at or near the limits of the restraints.
