Cedar Fair to aquire Six Flags Ohio

Interesting. We've gone to Cedar Pointe for as long as I can remember, and they've always done a good job of both maintaining the park and adding to it.

Six Flags World's of Adventure? Wow, that's their major competition! Hopefully, they'll clean it up a bit. We found it kind of smelly and in dire need of trees!!!

I hope they do a better job than Six Flags. I've always loved Cedar Point, I think they do very well in service, cleanliness and I'm assuming customer satisfaction is high too since I haven't heard anything majorly bad about Cedar Point.

Although we're fairly close to Six Flags WoA, we haven't gone there in almost two years, and fairly certain we wouldn't go again having had some problems in the past when my son fractured his finger on some of the games.

If Cedar Fair can bring it to level of Cedar Point, I will definitely consider going back there again, because my kids love this place. Their kids area is huge and very well suited for them.

We'll have to wait and see.

Yeah!!!!!!!!

Now, maybe they will make this park worth something! It was bad as Geauga Lake. Sea World was fine, but then Six Flags bought Geauga Lake and Sea World. They added more roller coasters, but the place was disgusting!
I may go back once they get it cleaned up. They are even changing the name back to Geauga Lake.

That could be potentially great news for us. We have avoided Six Flags for many years due to the fact that the park is grungy. Perhaps Cedar Fair can cleanup their act and make the park worth visiting. It would be awesome to have a season pass for both parks too. Now if they could only work out the details before our Memorial Day picnic, we could make Monday an official Six Flags day.

How incredible is this!!!!!!!!!! Geagua Lake is BACK!!!!!!!!!

As a former Northern Ohioan, I cried when Geauga Lake was gone! Last Memorial Day weekend, I cried at the Sea World section., espeically the poor treatment of the penguines.

I too, am hoping that my Dorney Park pass will help there as well.

Can someone tell me how to pronounce Geauga Lake -- is it like go-ga or gew-ga? It also says in the article that Six Flags will retain the animals. I wonder if Cedar Fair is going to eliminate the zoo part of the park?

Geauga Lake

Ge - Aw-GA Lake

It will be interesting to see if they can clean it up and keep it open.
I don't think I would miss the animals at all.

Cedar Fair was interviewed on the news tonight. They have no plans to open the Sea World side of the former Six Flags World Adventure park. They are going to concentrate on getting the Looney Tunes characters and theming out of the park before it opens in May. I guess I might have to rethink Cedar Point season passes for 2004.

WOW! We visited both parks last summer and enjoyed them both...but Cedar Point was awesome! It could only be a positive thing is Cedar Fair buys the Six Flags. I really liked the Animal section at World of Adventure...but it can definitely be improved!

Do you think that Cedar Point season passholders will get a break on admission to Geauga Lake?

I;m not sure how Cedar Point works, but my Dorney Park (another Cedar Fair park in PA) season pass works as well in Cedar Point (no extra admission charge) as well as Cedar Faire Parks.

If that same rule applies, my dorney Park season pass would not only be good for the Cedar Point park, but also for Geauga Lake..(I'm so glad to see that name back again!)

According to the article in the paper, they will not be accepting other Cedar Fair passes at Geauga Lake this summer. They may rethink it it for next year. If you purcahsed a Six Flags SP, you can return it for a full refund or exchange it for a Geauga Lake SP.

Woohoo! Geauga Lake is coming back! This is good news, but I will miss the Sea World side of the park. :teeth: :(
