This is another reason why your arguments tend to fall on deaf ears. You put the people you disagree with into little groups and come up with insulting names for them. I see it from you thread after thread. It's like you just can't seem to help yourself.

Dissent and disagreement is fine, but when your dissent is also served up with a heaping helping of insults it's hard to take you seriously and with respect. It is obvious that you don't give the people you disagree with the same courtesy.

I think this is a GREAT step forward. The thrill of the kill is one thing, but the trophy is the constant reminder of the enjoyment. I am all for taking some of the joy out of killing animals.

Jericho was the one protecting the cubs right? Well if true, I hope they catch them and they get their maximum sentence.

Hunting has been banned indefinitely in areas outside the national park for several types of animals. So something good came out of it.

The fact that the next alpha lion kills the cubs is natures way. The reasons are obvious why nature works this way. But they don't need to be killed, only removed. Maybe the preserve could capture them and have them placed in zoo's around the world.

It looks like he is going by the movements of the tracking device. I hope that someone takes a look soon to verify that nothing has become of the tracking device.

I'm getting to be annoyed by the inconsistency in reporting, though my beef here is with a minor point: According to other articles I've read, Jericho is not Cecil's brother. Cecil's brother, Leander, was killed several years ago when got into a fight with other male lions. Jericho is believed to be an unrelated lion, which teamed up with Cecil to establish their pride.

It's common for male siblings to be ejected from their natal pride when they reach adolescence together, and for them to stay bonded till they establish or take over their own pride. But it's also common for pairs of lone males to meet and form a team, which is what happened with Cecil and Jericho.

But a quick web search for "cecil jericho lions" turns up dozens of articles of the form "Cecil's brother Jericho killed", no doubt because they're relying on a single erroneous news service article.

I just read that it is still being disputed. I guess the gps tracker is moving. But the other reports say that he is dead. They had put a ban on hunting lions, leopards and elephants at 330 and half an hour later a call came in saying jericho was dead. He is an ally of Cecil I guess. They were friendly but not actual brothers. They are also investigating a lion killing from April that may have been illegal.

Guess they are going to go try and find him on Sunday.

Correct, but if you look up the definition of a vigilante, they don't distinguish between being accused and actually being charged/prosecuted/convicted.

I'm not a fan of hunting, and I do feel bad that this lion lost his life for sport, but I feel way too many people prioritize animal lives over human lives.

There is a little girl that was found dead on a Boston area beach last month. She is still unidentified. While I did see some international news coverage, briefly, it is far surpassed by the Cecil the Lion coverage; the same could be said for national news coverage. The outrage at her death nowhere nears the outrage over the lion's death.

ETA: I should clarify that hunting for sport and hunting for meat are two completely different things IMHO. While I wouldn't do either, I have much less of an issue for those that hunt animals for meat. For sport and trophy? No way; I just can't get behind that.

FWIW, There are some excellent crime forums on the web. Many would choose to post about crimes related to humans there. Nothing wrong with posting here, but it might not get the numbers that are generated in a specialist crime forum. (And the subject you reference is a good example that is well covered and researched in crime forums.)
