Cdn Ticket Question

I remember reading when the Cdn discounted tickets were first available, ticket holders had to go to guest services to show ID to have their tickets activated. I would imagine this is no longer the case but is there anything else required to verify citizenship/residency in order to use these tickets? 5 years later, we’re hoping to use them but we’re still up in the air if we’ll go this year.

Are yours non-expiry? I had expired, date-specific, unused cdn tickets for a trip I took this past December. I called ahead of time to apply their value to new tickets. When I got to my resort, I went to the front desk to ask if I needed to show anything. They scanned my bans and said all was good & worse case scenario, a cm would walk us to park guest services if there were any problems the first time we used at the gate. No issue at all.

Now if you had non-expiry cdn ones still sitting on your MDE, i don’t know. You could always use the MDE text feature to ask what they see from guest service point of view. :confused3

Thanks, yes they are non-expiring, non-date specific (although they show a 2030 expiry date in MDE). I bought these the first time they offered the discount.

ok. Then no need to upgrade. I would assume you would have to confirm residency for them. In the past, I would visit guest services at Disney Springs on arrival day. Or, if I was staying near crescent lake, I would go to the international gateway to do. — just to avoid carrying passports to the park. …but I would still text MDE or call if you have international calling (because waits are looong!) to see if you have to bother with all that anymore.;)

I purchased several sets of those tickets (still have one set), and each time, we have had to go to guest services with passports in hand to activate them. I suspect that has not changed.

Thanks, even during the pandemic?

I'm the opposite; I have always had Canadian tickets and drove straight to Disney Springs Guest Relations each time. For my trip this March, I have 'normal' tickets. They are on the MDE app, but I don't have any physical ticket.

We never but magic bands and would pick up the credit card size passes at the Guest Relations.

Since I have 'normal' tickets this time;

1) can I have the 'credit card' size passes mailed to me here in Canada,

2) can I go to any ticket window at the parks to pick up the passes

or

3) do I still need to go to a Guest Relations first?

Thanks!

We have the Canadian non exp tickets. On our last visit Aug 2021 we went to Guest Services outside MK to get them activated. It took Cm awhile to retrieve them. They are on my MDE but have to be activated at the park or Disney Springs. I think it took him almost 30 min because CM said it’s an old product not available anymore so they had to do some digging around to find it.

Thanks for this, much appreciated!

We haven't been back since the pandemic began, but I don't see why things would change. They are Canadian discount tickets, so you should have to prove Canadian residency as that is a requirement of being able to use them. If you're staying at an EPCOT resort, I would just go to the International Gateway on the day you arrive. If at one of the monorail resorts, go to the TTC. Otherwise, you can go to Disney Springs. You could also just do it on your first park day when you arrive at the park, but the lines can be long and I wouldn't want to waste time on my first park day standing in line to activate the tickets.

Sadly Disney does not ship those to Canada but 2 or 3 will work fine.

My experience is from Jan/20 so take with a grain of salt, but we did have to prove residency to use our Canadian discount tickets. We were able to use our passports at our first park (AK) guest services. We missed out a bit on rope drop, but we just zigged where others zagged and still had a great day.
