Cdn pennies in penny presses

Anyone have any experience with using Canadian pennies in the penny presses at WDW?

I think I read somewhere that 2000 and 2001 coins work well - can anyone confirm that?

Also, any suggestions on cleaning up those coins before using them in the presses?

We just returned and had a canadian penny not work in a penny press.The penny just slipped out!!It was only one time but my ds was not happy because I was out of quarters!!and his sisters had their pennies!(I had given them american ones.So you may want to play it safe and just use american ones(sorry I don't know which press it was,all I remember is it being at the MK)
And someone in the parks told us to use brass cleaner to shine up the pennies!But we will try that next time,it was something to do with older pennies pressing better.

We used Canadian pennies when we were there in Dec and it was fine so you can take your chances but we didn't have any problems

If you want real quality presses, use American pennies before 1982 they do not have any zinc in them. The zinc in the pennies causes the annoying silver streaks in your press. Canadian pennies are part zinc also. Try cleaning your penny before squishing it for the best results.

I have also heard letting them sit in coke for a while will clean them but I have never tried it.

We didn't have any trouble with Canadian pennies. Before I left I bought a new role from the bank. I also cleaned some in jewellery cleaner. Worked great!

We used a Cdn and a US penny in the same press and found that the US pressed penny was bigger. I guess it must have had more metal in it. The border was not complete around the Cdn penny. I have no idea what year the penny was, but that was our experience.
