The shipping rates were not bad... but we did get it with a duty bill of 75$!!!!!
The thing is, they didn't even charge my fiance when he went to pick it up at the DHL office, DHL sent us a bill 2 months later of 70$ without telling us why they were charging us
It took 3 phone calls (and not nice ones ) to be able to trace it back to duty charges on our Disney shopping order!
Another option is to wait to order a few weeks before your next trip and have them ship the order to your hotel. I did this last year and it worked out great the box arrived the day before we did, so at check in they gave it to us (just make sure to put your reservation number on the order form that way it appears on the shipping label).
Or you could find somebody that you know in the US who lives near the boarder and have it shipped to them if you are close enough to the US boarder yourself. I just did this last week as our next trip is in September and I wanted to take advantage of the free US shipping and a 25% discount on my order. I live in Vancouver and have had the boxes shipped to a freind who lives in Blaine WA, according to the UPS web site they should be in Blaine WA by Wednesday next week.

Same thing happened here. I got the order, was so excited, paid about $40.00 for shipping, for a $152.00 order
A month later, a bill comes from DHL. I never paid it. I actually forgot about it until just now!
But I was thinking--I paid $40 for shipping already, what could this possibly be for??
I did the same a few years back - ordered a lamp on sale for $25, and ended up getting a bill in the mail a couple of weeks later for $20 - not such a bargain after all. But, we leave tomorrow and I have a package waiting there for me from disneyshopping.com - ordered a couple of weeks ago when they had free shipping and sent it to OKW - goes by UPS, and I followed the shipping tracker so I know when it got there. My reservation number is on it, and I called OKW a few weeks back, said they'd hold it whenever it arrived until I get there.
So just check online before your upcoming trip for free or $5 shipping, place an order (the outlet is great) and you'll have souvies to bring home duty free!
This thread if very interesting - I was looking on the Disney Shopping site a few days ago. I wanted to purchase some great sale items for my upcoming trip. When I was on the "Check-out" window I cancelled my order because the shipping charges were so high. My question is: If I will be arriving at the Polynesian on August 12th can I have my order shipped there now? Does anyone know how long it takes for an in-stock order to arrive at a Disney Resort? What steps do I need to follow to make sure that I receive my order (i.e. should I start by calling the Polynesian to confirm OR do I need to find out what the delivery date is first.....) Thanks
I placed an order 8 days ago for 22 different iteams. I set it up to be deliveried to a freind in Bellingham WA, and it is being deliveried today via UPS.
Last year I placed an order three weeks before my trip and had it shipped to the Pop Century with my reservation number on the shipping label.
Just call the Poly and let them know what you are doing, I am sure that it won't be a problem. Have a great trip.
I did order and received my order very quickly i think 4 business days!
My order total was around $120, and i think i payed $10 for fees by ups-i think gst was charged in it too!
