As far as to the best of your knowledge that will depend on HR and identifying close contacts.
My husband only found out about his boss having covid after a little over 2 weeks someone had taken over the duties quietly in the meantime and his boss is the one who advised it though my husband hadn't seen his boss in multiple weeks so he was not determined to be a close contact.

HR did not nor will they disclose an individual to anyone has covid unless they've been determined to be a close contact. Workers talk for sure and right now my husband's project and 1 other project are the only ones in the office so it narrows down and there have been a handful of scares but thankfully not big issues. But his company in our direct area also rents space in another building and owns another building (that they are in the process or well were in the process of transitioning those workers to the new building they had bought from previous tenants after it had been renovated to my husband's company's liking..sadly they took out the slide that prior company has :( ) so there's a bit more that could be impacted.

My husband was telling me that you are able to notify the company via an HR link if you're interested in a vaccine, have gotten it, etc and I think that was to gauge how many employees got it for stats because of integrating back into the office as well as to know about the project sites but also I think now to know how many the company might need to get as far as vaccines. Back when my husband was telling me about it the thought of the company getting vaccine supply was next to nil as workplaces weren't really getting them yet. I asked my husband if they would disclose how many were on the lists and he said they wouldn't at this time so I think all that stuff is just internal need to know information. I think a lot of this stuff is intentionally private but obviously the smaller the company or space the higher chance you may actually know the full details. Still though.

Fauci just said the pause on JNJ may be over in a week.

I hope so. I finally got an appt for next week for J&J. I had myself all convinced the "one and done" was the way to go for me. I found out the clinic I am signed up with may switch everyone to Pfizer. Not sure how I feel about that now that I was all set for J&J. I'm scared of Pfizer because everyone keeps talking about how awful they felt after the second dose and how they were more sick than they have ever been etc. I'm ready to throw in the towel. (not really, just confused about which way to go)

My second dose of Pfizer gave me flu like symptoms for about 6 hours. As crappy as I felt, I’d do it again in a heartbeat.

Based on the data—so far—it may be advisable to get the Pfizer if you’re female and under 50 years old.

This is completely unexpected from the clinical trials. Although, blood clots were occurring in both AztraZeneca and J&J clinical trials in the vaccine group, only 1 out of 11 blood clot events with J&J among vaccinated patients happened in a young female. All the other patients were men.
Compare that to what is going on in the general population, where all cases are occurring in young female.

Exact opposite of what was seen in the clinical trials.

If it helps at all, my husband, my daughter, and I all had Pfizer. The worst we had after the second dose was a sore arm (but fully mobile), minor headache that may or may not have been related, and a little tiredness. My parents both had Pfizer, too, now that think about it and also had very mild symptoms, if any.

The NFL announced today that players will not be allowed in the locker rooms, weight rooms, or any common rooms unless vaccinated. Here is hoping when large companies re open their offices, they make it a requirement that the employees are fully vaccinated to come back in. We as a country need to get out of this malaise of COVID paranoia and the best way is just to roll up the sleeve and take the shot.

We're another family that may be able to ease your mind a little. DS had his second Pfizer shot Friday. DH & I had our second Pfizer shots yesterday at 1:00. None of us have had any side effects not even a sore arm. Fingers crossed that continues.

I had Moderna which has had a higher incidence of most of the same side effects. I go for my second Fouci Ouchy tomorrow. On the first go around, ..So far, I had a sore shoulder and some tiredness. And the sore shoulder was just enough to be annoying more than it was anything else. It didn't even require a tylenol.

########Updated with revolutionary new disruptive technology!!! HAHA. I love that nonsensical saying.

It has been about 3 hours since my second Fauci Ouchy and so far so good. The shot itself I barely even felt. I am getting pain near the site again. But other than that so far, nothing. The pain is annoying but not enough to require even so much as a tylenol. The pain is over a wider area, however, radiating to the base of my neck. Again, just annoying so far.

#######update #2.
It has been 6 hours now and no real change. Still not enough pain to do anything other than be annoying.

Update 3. 12 hours now. The pain is all but gone and never really was bad. Had a very low grade fever for about 1/2 hour and that is it. Never had to take a tylenol.

Update 4. 24 hours. Slept 9 hours. Guess I was a bit tired and didn't really know it. Other than that, same. Don't let your arm stay still too long. It's best to move it around a bit I've had no nausea, no headache, no fever other than the very small one for about 30 minutes above, and No pain other than that arm and that side of my shoulder/neck area, and it wasn't even enough to require a tylenol. So far. I was able to go about my day with no problems. I didn't drive just as a precaution but I easily could have without any difficulty. I don't think I'd want to mow or weed eat (vibration would probably be bad for my arm) or lift heavy objects or spend a lot of time with my arm outstretched. But other than that, fine.

Edit 5 Final unless something changes. The pain pretty much disappeared by noon. No symptoms at all. All in all I'd have to say extremely mild. May everyone have it as EZ as I did.

Has the NFLPA signed off on that? That would at the very least be a grievance waiting to be filed if a player doesn't want it. My company has told us they will not require vaccination, my wife's company has said the same, and she works in healthcare. I have not heard of any large companies that are going to make it a condition of employment, probably because it will get litigated.

Not exactly. The NFL announced that team EMPLOYEES who refuse vaccines without cause will not be allowed access to players areas.

I had my second Pfizer Saturday. Nothing more than a sore arm and the faintest of body aches for about 2 hours (honestly indistinguishable from post workout soreness). My son had his second yesterday. He was very tired this morning and had a low grade fever around 99.5. He stayed home from school and slept all morning. He woke up at 11am feeling fine.

Don't let fear of minor, short lived side effects dissuade you from getting the vaccine.

My husband was fine after his second dose of Pfizer.. just a bit of a sore arm. I had Moderna - and felt horrible for about 24 hours after the second shot. From what I've seen, reactions really seem to vary based on the individual.

I've seen you post this before, and in my opinion it's a pretty good hypothesis. It will be interesting to see once this is over and numbers are crunched and policies are examined if "lockdowns" really helped, or just delayed the inevitable surge. As far as Canada, I could buy that a lot easier if Canada was eaten up with covid, but if anything I would think the US is driving up their numbers.
We caught a ton of cases at the border all year (we have a zero covid policy here) and U.S. cases contributed to our count many, many, many times but we stayed at zero through testing/contact tracing. Can't go around blaming us now that the U.S. is all fancy schmancy lower cases! *shakes fist* :rotfl2:.

Anyways I was just kidding about all that stuff above. On another note - could you maybe just send me along a vaccine when you get a chance? Pop it in the mail anytime. Two doses of course. Thanks!

CDC will meet today to discuss JNJ- rumor is they will recommend it not be used for certain groups (women on birth control?) but is okay for all others.

You are correct, the original release indicated this included players but the follow up clarified it is only team employees - non players. As EACarlson posted, the NFLPA will most likely need to sign off for this to apply to players.

I‘m reading this morning that the pause may last 7-10 days. There are also two more clotting cases being reported. One a woman and one a man, which may throw a curveball into this investigative pause.

I posted a while back that there were plenty of appointments at our local Kroger. There are still a few but I know they were doing a J&J as well as Moderna so that has had some impact.
I just looked at our local hospital and there are 38 available appointments for tomorrow. I am in Kentucky and the vaccines are available to 16+.
I don't know the reason why there are so many. Our governor gives an update most days and the FB comments have a lot of people commenting that they will get the vaccine or already have but there are still a large amount of comments saying they will not for various reasons (not been researched enough, government control, it's poison). Those comments drive me crazy. I still wonder what will happen when getting the covid shot is as easy as walking into your local pharmacy to get the flu shot, if there are too many that refuse to take it. I have family members who won't take it, and a few who are unsure, but would do it if they had to in order to travel. I love this thread because it gives me hope, when I see so much misinformation out there.

I don't need to find an appointment but out of curiosity I wanted to see if there were some available through the state's system. There are quite a few more locations with openings than there were when I was searching a month ago. I'm not sure the list is updated since there are 2 locations that list J&J as the vaccine that would be given. All others are Pfizer, which is what it was when I was looking.
At least here the pause won't really effect the state run sites. I have no idea how it effects local pharmacy suupplies, I know my ds's work was giving out J&J but my dd had hers done at a CVS and it was Pfizer.

I think this news about J&J has scared people off a little. Even though it currently not being used, I think people are still scared. Many people were willing to get the vaccine, but were a little nervous and unsure I think. Then this just pushed them to delay getting the shot.
