I would love to hear everyone's opinion on the CD Teresa on board the WONDER.

I was on the 12/04-7 sailing and have my own opinion but I would like to hear others.

Very slick and polished in front of a group, but not the warmest person. I didn't see her interacting with guests very often. I didn't have any reason or opportunity to deal with her, but we happened to get on the elevator with her while she was going up to the sail away party. I recognized her voice from the PA during the lifeboat drill, but she didn't introduce herself. She was nice and asked a few token questions, but didn't even try to engage our kids directly.

Ok ... CD stands for Cruise Director? Now I think I got that right.

Not that I was possibly thinking anything else, but you never know about them acronyms. :D

We just met her as CD for the first time on our latest Wonder cruise (Thanksgiving weekend), so I don't really have an opinion yet. We did chat with her briefly after one of the shows...she is friendly and also did well on stage and making announcements. But I don't think that anyone will ever be able to live up to Rick!

Has Rick left DCL? He was the sweetest person and would do anything for anyone.

Just kind of wanted to get a feel for what other people thought.

I was thoroughly disappointed. I have been on many cruises and to be honest have never had a female CD. I wasn't trying to judge her, but, after a couple of days I thought to myself that she was SO irritating to me. Her voice, they way she spoke, I just didn't enjoy her at all.

I was just wondering if anyone else felt this way??

Our first cruise we had Rick, and then about 2 years ago, on the infamous fire cruise, Jacqui was the CD. She seemed pretty NOT approachable. She seemed slick and porofessional, but not very warm. My dd referred to her as the Ice Princess.

Yep, DCL should not have let Rick slip away. I was a Mouseketeer contestant, and had so much fun with Rick.
I can't imagine Teresa in that same position. After the first day, she became like a drone. Maybe it was just new job jitters? But, we cruised in Sept, she'd be over that by now.

WE were on the same cruise as you and actually observed (and okay, participated) in a little mimicking of Theresa. Yes, she was irritating and if we heard "although the sun isn't shining outside, it is shining here on the Wonder!" one more time, we were going to track her down. I know her job is to be pleasant and upbeat, but, really, enough is enough. (Do you detect a bit of bitterness because the weather was nasty? Maybe) Perhaps just an updating of more special events would have been sufficient without commentary.

Rick is no longer with DCL. I believe I saw on another post he is with Celebrity. Huge loss for DCL in my opinion - he was fantastic! Only saw Teresa as ACD.

OK - is Teresa the woman with the accent? If she's the one - we talked with her last summer and found out that she has friends in our town - quite a coincidence. We only talked to the CD during the repeat cruisers reception. Her accent irritated me a little - but she was pleasant in person.

I think Cara was the CD on the November 6 cruise. I liked Jackie in 2002. Maybe this Teresa person is rather new and will warm up to her duties soon. I have been very impressed with all of the CM on the Wonder.

We were on the cruise right before yours (11/30). I was participating in the PassPorter Treasure Hunt and happened to pass Theresa in the hallway. Although she was practically sprinting to wherever it was she needed to be, she stopped and helped me with a few questions. She was very nice and very helpful! Her presentations before the shows were a little stiff but in person she was lovely.

I was on the 11/30 Wonder cruise. I was less than impressed with Theresa. Her voice grated on my every last nerve. On the last night my mom said "well, the good thing about leaving tomorrow is that I'll never have to listen to HER again!" (that was an unprompted comment as I hadn't mentioned anything about Theresa before)

I have been immitating her since we've been off the ship though....Sometimes when I talk in a sing-song-y voice I'll bend at the knees and squat a little, keeping my knees tightly together. Seems like she did that a lot! ;)

Was dissapointed that Capt. Henry wasn't there (he was there in May and Sept)....Missed hearing him say "Vee Vant to Velcome you to the Disney Wonder ---obviously he couldn't call it the Disney Vonder. :)
