Does the CD of photos that you purchase from Shutters include the photo graphics or are those only on the purchased photos? Can you get the photos without the graphics? THANKS!

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but they do include the graphics on the digital images and it is not possible at this time to get photos without graphics. Which I think is a huge disappointment. This was not the case a few years ago (2011 definitely, though I am not sure about when they made the change between then and now) and I wish they would change back!

Those borders are so infuriating. It makes it really really hard to crop to specific sizes. I wish there were a way to remove them. I wish DCL would listen to feedback to be able to remove them (I know it's a third party company, but it's part of their whole experience so you'd think they would pass that along). Maybe we all need to create a flood of feedback and they will listen.

I agree 100%! It's maddening!!

Yeah it is frustrating. I ended up on ours we just got off of buying the prints and the digital copies just because I didn't feel like messing with the cropping later (laziness I know).

I bought the CD, does anyone know where I can take the pictures to be printed ? I went to SAMs and the border was cut off. When I asked about the border they resized the picture by making it smaller to include the border but added a white space around the outside of picture

Does Sam's only have standard photo sizes? The problem with the borders is that the photo sizes Shutters uses are odd (8X10 and 6X8). You'd probably have to find a photo printing location that will work with the sizes you have or just have everything printed on the larger size and trim off the white edges.

I am not sure the photo size but they went though each picture and edited them to include the border. I wonder if anyone had experience printing them via online before I wasted my money -

I mean the paper they print the photos on - those are probably the standard 8.5X11 or 5X7 sizes. And printing an 6X8 photo on a 5X7 paper means that some of it gets cut off. They can resize the photo to fit, but it won't fit the full page as the ratios aren't the same.

i would assume they use standard.

I was hoping someone here would some advice on where to go

I get my shutters photos printed through Snapfish and I've never had a problem with the photos or borders being cut off.

Thank you for the information !
Did you have to order the photos in any special sizes?

I've ordered them and in all sizes, 4x6, 5x7 & 8x10 and have never noticed them cropping them. I guess they just consider the border as part of a the picture.

The main reason we paid the extra for the prints package was because I looked online prior to sailing and the few places that did 6x8 prints charged a stupid amount, so it worked out to be a good deal to get the prints from Shutters.

I pre-purchased the photo CD for my cruise but after reading the descriptions of the graphic borders and challenges in cropping or trimming, I decided to go with the less expensive photo book (where I will be more likely to enjoy the Disney theming) and then just take my own photos. How and when do I go to Shutters to cancel my CD for a refund?

Thanks

At any time up through the last full day onboard. You can't do it on debarkation morning.

i'm a little confused. Does every single photo have some border or graphics?
I believe a majority do, possibly all. BUT, they are not all real borders, as such. Sometimes it's just a graphic in the corner with the ship name and cruise dates.

Sometimes they are full borders:

How much is the CD out of interest?

PHOTOS (Sep 2014)

Individual prices are:
8X10 - $20.95
6X8 - $14.95

The packages are 6 ($99.95), 10 ($149.95), 15 ($199.95), and 20 ($249.95) photos. Different length cruises have different options. You can also purchase an all prints package (all your photos printed) for the same cost as the length of cruise CD.

The length of cruise CD cost varies with length of cruise. The prices I've seen are (for pre-cruise purchase/onboard cost):
7 night $295.95/$100.00 to add prints/$349.95, $100.00 to add prints;
5 night $249.95/$50.00 to add prints;
4 night $194.95/$75.00 to add prints/$229.95, $75.00 to add prints;
2 night $199.95/$50.00 to add prints

Special CD prices –

14 night $339.95/$100.00 to add prints;
12 night $399.95 or $339.95/$100.00 to add prints

The 6, 10, 15, & 20 photo packages can be either prints or the CD with 6, 10, 15, or 20 photos unlocked for your access once home.

Recent reports have the prices for onboard purchases of the above packages at $50.00 more than the pre-purchase price.

I would say about half of them. Many of the character photos do, but the posed family photos we've found either have none or just a minimal stamp in the corner that says the name of the ship or something.

Here are a couple of examples from borders to just little stamps:
