CCV Direct or More Resale (CCV or SSR)

Alright. I am tempted to change my spring break plans from 4 nights at BWV in a 1 BR and 4 nights at VB in a 1 BR to 8 nights in a 1 BR at SSR. Give SSR a real test drive. Or, could split the baby, keep my BWV and switch out VB to SSR. That might be the better move. Test out how I feel about walking to Epcot/HS followed immediately by the SSR bus loop and see just how much I value that park proximity.

I don't know about you but we have much more energy up front as we are excited to be back and then we relax more on the later portion of our trip.

If you are like us you might want to reverse it to start with busses at SSR to see how it really is when you want to get to a certain park and then end with a nice stroll or boat ride back to BWV at the end of an evening.

Not a bad idea, but I think BWV would be pretty tough to change at this point. Looks like a few days available Easter week in a 1 BR, but would have to waitlist.

I know, I know, it is sort of crazy. There are a few other reasons I have thought about for switching - biggest one is that there is a possibility DW is going to have to fly back before the weekend for work, leaving me to corral the kids on my own (she's a nurse and it's her weekend to work, and hasn't been able to find a switch yet). I think I'd rather do that at WDW than the beach. Still, can't argue with the fact that I'd rather be at the beach than looking at a SSR fountain from my balcony.

Do you normally rent a car? You will have to if you are leaving things as they are with VB. If you already have the car you might as well use it for SSR too to make things a little easier if you do decide to do the switch.

Don’t forget you can walk into the DVC office whenever you want and buy more points at Saratoga and then drive away on a surrey bike to celebrate!

We do normally rent a car. Have been thinking about trying a car service for one of our trips since we don't really use the car very much, but that might be a nice reason to keep it.

Honestly, one thing I really liked about our 1 night stay at SSR this past weekend was being able to park so close to the room. When we checked out of our CCV 1 BR, instead of letting bell services do the work, I took all our suitcases to our car and then we drove to SSR. Loading at WL was much more difficult than unloading and loading at SSR.

I *really* like having a car---I only skip it when (a) I am on a bonus keep-the-costs down trip or (b) I am staying at one of BCV, BWV, or RIV. For those three, there's not much reason to drive to EP and DS. Throw in the fact that it almost never makes sense to drive to MK unless you are taking the ferry or monorail on purpose, and there isn't much left to use it for.

I will admit that the last time I was there I really wanted to be able to a resort restaurant in the MK area, but that was a long time ago. With the addition of RIV and CBR on the Skyliner, that might be less of a deal.

That said, I did do a keep-costs-down trip at SSR one year, and the bus trips did not overly annoy me, so YMMV.

Car is the move at Saratoga. You can park
right outside your building, it avoids you needing airport transportation and other than Magic Kingdom, YOU are the Disney transportation. Plus, if you’re looking to go to Universal (go check out Epic or Volcano Bay?) then the Saratoga trips with the rental car are the ones to tack that side quest onto.
