CC's Weight Loss Journey

I got in 80 min. of exercise yesterday and 48 today (so far). Sundays are hard to get in my steps, but I'm determined. I think we'll be visiting the outlet mall today so I should get in a couple thousand steps that way. We are doing one of my favorite things today: going shopping for a baby.

This week, I'm counting calories and not POINTS. I still have some more calories to eat for the day if I want a snack and I'm thinking I do. I'm really hungry. I don't know why though. I ate a pretty big dinner, lots of veggies and protein. Perhaps because there were no carbs outside of ketchup...I'm one of those people who needs carbs. Off to figure out what I can eat for snack that keeps me in my ranges for the day (Thanks SparkPeople!)

exercise always makes me hungry! after a run, i have protein - some cottage cheese, a protein shake, whatever - but it helps your muscle and fills you
 
I hear ya on the carbs...they can be a big downfall for me! Hopefully you'll hit on some items that stick with you and fight off the hunger longer.

No binges since Saturday-very excited about that.

I started a dance class last night. It's a modern and jazz class. I enjoyed it a lot, but it wasn't very aerobic. Still 80 minutes of exercise, but not a workout. Hoping to get a solid workout in tonight.

Thanks Deb! I've been playing around with what I eat and it looks like I'm in for a good loss this week. Very excited!

My new pedometer has a memory feature so I know the last 7 days' number of steps. I'm going to post those here so I don't forget myself! I think it'll be good for me to have a record so I can see trends, etc.

Wednesday: 8815 or 3.33 miles
Thursday: 5947 or 2.25
Friday: 8128 or 3.07
Saturday: 7560 or 2.86
Sunday: 5508 (mall day) or 2.08
Monday: 4768 or 1.8
Tuesday: 8755 or 3.31
Today: 9059 or 3.43

These are just regular steps that I take throughout the day. I don't wear my pedometer while I'm exercising. (Had to write that to remind myself)

Not sure why I got in so many steps today though. I know I walked around a lot at work, but that still seems high. I guess I was more active today than I thought. Not expecting to top 10,000, but I know I'll get closer before I hit the sack.

Just finished counting my calories for the day and I'm slightly over my max...by less than 15. I am most definitely ok with that, especially since I usually overcestimate portion size if I can't measure. The only disappointment was that my protein count for the day was low, but within range. Tomorrow's goal is for it to be higher by at least 10 grams.

Thanks for the encouragement! I've been playing around with what I've been eating. I'm staying satisfied longer. The key seems to be having a good amount of carbs and a good amount of protein. I'm still searching for the perfect amount of carbs to have at lunch though. I'll find it soon enough. Thanks again for the support!

I got a tip on the Dis to eat Fiber One Yogurt. So going to give that a try, Also , I have eating a 1 point cheese stick on my way to work and that seems to help also.

Welcome! I'm trying counting calories just for this week. I thought I would see if that helped. I am looking to lose about the same as on WW, but I feel like it's helped in other ways. I'm getting a good perspective on what 1 point means. I'm not an expert now on points or anything, but I have a much better understanding of the value of an apple versus a piece of white bread. I also found that I am eating less protein than I thought I was. Also, I learned it's easier to count points, IMO, FWIW.

I love Fiber One yogurt! I tried the 1 point chesse sticks today and was very happy with that choice. It's just enough of a treat for me. I love my new pedometer. It doesn't count time unless you're doing aerobic walking.

I topped 11,000+ steps today! Can't wait to see if there is a pattern to how many steps I rack up in a day! I know Sundays are low, but Monday was lower than I expected too. Hmmm...this will definitely be interesting.
 
Had a good day today. I know I went over my calories, but I'm ok with that. It still looks like I'm going to have a 2-3 pound loss for the week. I only got in 10 minutes of exercise yesterday and 45 min. today. Can't complain about today, although I won't achieve my goal of 900 min. of exercise during February. I'll just have to work harder next month. Already yawning, I guess it's time for bed. Good night!
 
Just a quick update before dinner...

Almost at 10,000 steps for the day-very excited about that!

I went over my calories for the day (didn't count them...will be back to counting POINTS tomorrow), but I am not worried about that. I am expecting a good loss tomorrow morning when I weigh-in. I'll try to get in a workout tonight or perhaps tomorrow morning.

I'm officially back to counting points. I did really well at weigh-in this morning. I'm down 8+ pounds. I got in lots of water and a good amount of exercise this week. I'm happy with the loss and hoping to maintain it. I'm hoping to get in a good workout every night or morning this week. I'm also hoping to rack up 10,000 steps per day, if not more. I better get moving for today though. I'm not even over 500 steps. I got to 9901 or 3.75 miles yesterday and 11,005 or 4.16 miles on Thursday. Very happy with both days.

Will write more later, I hope...
 
I'm pretty bored right now. I'm hoping writing will keep me from deciding to eat anything. I'm definitely not hungry. I ate more than I should have at lunch. I have to be better about not eating chocolate. I gave up drinking soda for Lent and that is helping the sugar cravings (and I was drinking diet), but I still cave when others eat chocolate. I have 100 calorie bars, but it isn't enough. I have to stop being such a follower. I guess I'm a little disappointed in myself. Just a bit.

Ok enough dwelling. I got in some solid exercise today and I am eating a low points taco salad for dinner. I have a busy day ahead of me tomorrow with regards to eating. I'm going to a Baptism followed by a reception. Then, we are having family dinner. We're having beef and sausage stew with potatoes, carrots, and onions. I will only eat the beef and measure out the veggies. I'll stay at the reception for a while, but probably not eat that much unless there are some healthy options. I'm hoping for some healthy choices. I have a long drive home if there is nothing I can or want to eat. I suppose I could stop at McD's and get a salad or bring something with me. I guess there's no sense in worrying about it now. I'll pack something to eat if necessary, but there will probably be something for me to eat. I may end up eating a lot of my WPA tomorrow, but that's ok. I'm planning to earn 20+ APs this week.

Yet another post for the day...Posting is keeping me busy and not mindlessly eating. Thanks everyone!

I did great a dinner tonigt. I went over my points minimum for the day, but earned some APs, so I feel like I had a perfect day!

I won't make my goal of 900 exercise minutes for the month, but I'm going to try again next month. I'm determined to make it for March. As soon as I finish this cycle (probably TMI, sorry), I'm going to get a 3-week short-term membership to a local indoor pool. I love to swim and I'm hoping this helps me lose some inches. I'm really looking forward to those 3 weeks. I know that swimming laps is a lot of work, but it is a challenge I am willing to take on. I had to reorder my maid-of-honor gown 2 sizes bigger and I'm determined to need it hemmed a lot. There was some confusion and I thought it was ordered at the larger size, but it wasn't so it had to be reordered. Oh well. I lost most of the weight I've gained since the bridal shop reordered it, so it looks like hemming will definitely be necessary.

My plan for tomorrow is to get up pretty early for a Sunday and get ready to leave for the Baptism. I'll go to Mass and attend the Baptism/reception. I'm hoping to be home by 2 PM. I'll get my workout in then. Of course, if I wake up earlier than I need to, I'll get my workout in before I have to start getting ready. My goal for tomorrow is to do Cardio Levels 1 and 2 of the BL Jumpstart DVD as well as 30 min. of Wii Fit. Part of that 30 min. should include some jogging. I'd also like to get in 10-12 min. on the elliptical-like machine we have at home. I did that today and burned 200 calories in 11 minutes. It's a very intense workout. I'd love to be under 140 when I weigh-in next week, either Friday or Saturday. I'd have to lose almost 3 pounds though and that would be about 12 pounds in 2 weeks, so not exactly healthy. Really, any loss is good enough. I just don't want to gain any of what I lost this past week back. Well, I have to be up fairly early tomorrow and I no longer feel like eating (unnecessarily), so I best be off.

Well, I ate more than I had hoped today. The biggest downfall was that there was no water available. Oh well. I got in some exercise today, but not that much. I'm feeling a little sick to my stomach. Hoping that I'll wake up feeling ok and can exercise tomorrow morning.
