i just have a general question...when you check in at a Disney resort and you give them an imprint of your credit card, does anyone know if they actually put a "hold" on a specific dollar amount depending on your length of stay? is this a standard daily amount that they do?

They do not put a hold for room charges. They may however charge $1.00 to make sure the card is active or not stolen. At least this is how it worked in my case. Here is a link to a thread on this subject.
