Hi everyone!

We're scheduled to arrive at Pop exactly one month from today! :cool1:

I've looked through quite a few threads and can't seem to find the answer to my question which is: what amount will put or held on our credit cards upon check-in?

I've never stayed at a Disney property before so I don't know what to expect. Last time, we stayed at a Hilton and they held $50 per night of our stay. I know in the past during our vacations (not at WDW) we were also able to get the deposit/hold waived because we knew we wouldn't be needing any type of incidentals.

Just want to know what to expect.

thanks for your help!

If you want charging on your room key you are allowed I believe for a value is $500 and once you hit $500 you can go down and pay it off & start all over again. But you don't have to give a credit card if you don't want to. At least what I been told in the past fro this board :) You don't have to pay for parking unless you do valet parking but I think that is separate charge. Other than that no extra charges unless you order room service etc.. I don't think they will hold anything on your credit card. MHO

Correct- there is no hold put on your card if you give one.

If you allow charging on your room card, the limits will be:
Value - $500
Mod - $1000
Deluxe - $1500

If you hit that limit or close to it, they will charge it to your credit card. Then it starts over.

We were told last visit that when you hit the limit you have to go to your resort front desk to ask them to charge your card, it wasn't a major problem but nobody mentioned the limit to us so we assumed it'd be linked to available credit of the card, which was more than our resort limit.

They may run the card to make sure it's valid - think $1 charge. Definitely no hold is placed. You'll only be charged if you use it, and then only once you hit the limit or the night before you check out.

If you use the same card to hold your reservation and pay at check-in, they won't run another transaction.

If you are at your limit, your card will be charged on the overnight cycle. If you hit your limit early in the day, transactions will be refused until you charge your card. If that happens, usually the CM at the shop where it is refused will put you on the line with guest services who ask for an authorization to charge right then. If you're getting close it wouldn't hurt to call from your room and have them run the charge so you don't get caught empty! I did that before I went to DTD, since I figured I'd be buying monorail stuff, clothes, etc. etc. etc. :lmao:

Thanks so much for the information! This is a relief as I'm usually having to budget the "hold" on my credit card in addition to what I need to use! I hate having my money tied up for the resorts' own peace of mind...

thanks again!
