What services come with a CC cabana other than a designated spot and a refrigerator with drinks? My family of 6 (ages 8-15) is cruising this July. I am going to book the Abaco rigid hull snorkel which takes up 3 hours. Not sure I should try to get us a cabana. (I have been told the possibility is better if you are in concierge which is what we are booked as). If I am snorkeling for 3 hours is that too much time away to enjoy the cabana?

We’ve done CC many ways, including beach chairs, excursions and cabana. Considering you’ll be at the cabana no earlier than 12:15 if everything goes smoothly, without having grabbed a lunch, I would say no. You’ll get maybe 3 hours to use it. It wouldn’t be worth 643$ to me. I would just grab beach chairs and do some activities around the island.

To answer your first question, it comes with a safe, fresh fruits, chips, granola bars, a hammock, a private shower, a changing area, access to a private part of the beach, snorkeling equipment rental, bike rental, sunscreen, tube and water mat, taxi service to the tram (a 5 min walk at the most) and butler service.

It is almost impossible to get a cabana without being Concierge, especially now that they’ve converted cabins on Magic and Wonder. DCL truly favors Concierge guests for those. On our last cruise, we were rerouted to CC for a surprise double dip. The asked all the Concierge guests if they wanted to keep their previous cabana on the original day, replace it with one on the new CC day or get one both days. Then they asked Concierge guests who had not reserved one if they wanted one of those available on either day before considering the waitlist setup at guests services. They also keep one available when bookings open in case a Concierge guest forgets to request one.

We have rented a cabana on both FB and SB, we have never had to wait till 12:15 to get to it.
We have been in by 9:30/10:00 every time.

Keep in mind that cabana requests can be sent in at 125 days prior to sailings if you are concierge. If you have a July sailing, then you are getting close to that if not already there.

Such good information! I couldn't find anything on the Disney site about the cabanas on CC. My date isn't until next week, but I think I am going to pass on the cabana at CC. Sounds like I wouldn't be spending much time there with the snorkel excursion. Thanks for all your help....I knew someone would know the answer!!!!

I would do a shorter snorkel and take the cabana but that’s just me. DW said the cabana “made the trip” on our last CC day.

We did a Cabana once. We loved it but we did not plan any excursions. The previous cruise everyone did an excursion.

My boys are older and my DH likes the shade. We love being able to eat in the Cabana. We loved the private beach, hammock and shower. We loved the cool wet towels in fridge, we were there in August. We loved the complimentary drinks and snacks, plus water rafts and tubes. We loved having our own umbrella and chaises.

One of the best things was when we had an late afternoon down pour. Everyone went running to the ship. Not us. We just chilled in our Cabana and when the rain finished about 25 minutes later, we went for a swim. The island was pretty much empty except for Cabana guest. It was so much fun.

So, IMHO, I would limit excursions and enjoy the Cabana. But you know what best for your family. Good luck.

We have done the cabana a couple of times. No excursion. That was the excursion. To us, they are wonderful, but expensive. So, when we had, we enjoyed our time there. We did take advantage of snorkeling and bikes as they came free as part of the price. But a 3 hour excursion is like half your time there. To me, it would not be worth the price. You will have a fantastic time no matter what you choose. Enjoy!
