CBS Cancels Shows!/New Fall Line Up on Post#47

WHAT?!?!?! I hadn't heard anything about Ghost Whisperer! Boo! Maybe another network will pick it up....like CBS did with Medium.

I gave up on Ghost Whisperer with the whole dead Jim in a different body. It jumped the shark, which given the premise of the show, you would think would be difficult to do.

DW and SIL will be very disappointed about Numb3rs. I enjoyed the show too.

Well shoot!! I had heard rumers of GW and Numb3rs being cancelled but was hoping they weren't true. Darn!

Cold Case, Numb3rs, Miami Medical, Accidentally on Purpose, The New Adventures of Old Christine, Gary Unmarried, Ghost Whisperer

Numb3rs is a favorite around here. Sad to see that one cancelled.

Cold Case is the only other show from that list that I've even seen though, and it seems to be on at least 2 or 3 times a day. I didn't even realize they were still coming out with new episodes.

Maybe I'm partially at fault for the others getting the axe... because I'm sure CBS cares deeply what I watch. :rotfl:

I stopped watching after that, too. Especially when they jumped 5 years also and acted like the whole Jim thing didn't happen- after what they put us through emotionally hoping Jim would still be alive, come back, and be the same actor. :sad2:

I saw a commercial preview for their season finale, where Melinda & Jim were having an argument. The voiceover asked, "Will Jim & Melinda's marriage survive?" I thought, "Are they still trying that crap again? Putting the viewers left through an emotional wringer over their love, a second time? Been there, done that." :sad2: I'm not surprised the show got canceled.

What will that leave them with? Survivor and AR? Oh and Big Brother this summer?

The spinoff series to Criminal Minds will be added to CBS. Hopefully the original show will be picked up again, since it's at the top of Wed night's ratings. But, stranger decisions have gone through the minds of TV programming reps,
screwy2.gif
i.e. the firing & re-hiring of Jay Leno, who was also at the top of the ratings in his time slot. :sad2:

A potential problem I see is that the reruns air so much on A&E and ION TV, that the CBS programmers may think the TV is over-saturated with Criminal Minds. Instead of somehow getting the syndicated cable networks to air less of the reruns, the network execs stupidly cancel the original show instead. :sad2:

I liked Numb3rs but the show has gone downhill. I liked it for the math and logic and they went more and more into the characters private lives and away from the math.

Didn't Miami Medical just start? They need to give the shows a full season before making these quick decisions. A show could start off with low numbers but after a couple of months they audience picks up.

Miami Medical did just start. And i can say without a doubt, canceling it was the right thing. Saw 10 minutes of it and that was more than enough. No sense in wasting money on that show.

I really hope the other network picks up Ghost Whisperer. I really enjoy watching this on Friday nights!

I agree I stop watching when Jim died. Boo!

ET reports Charlie Sheen just signed a 2 year contract renewal for "Two and a Half Men."

I was sorry to hear about Ghost Whisperer. I haven't watched it all that long and I was working on catching up. It sounds like it got a bit bizarre later on.

So what's left besides reality shows? I thought that the networks were going to get away from reality shows a bit.

DH was the Numb3rs watcher. He knew it was going.
I stopped watching Ghost Whisper when Jim died

Really like Miami Medical and will be sorry to see it go.

Stopped watching Cold Case a couple of years ago too....I guess bad time and night.

Don't watch any of the comedies

What will that leave them with?
I'll post their schedule HERE as soon as they issue the press release.

So what's left besides reality shows?

The Good Wife (CBS)
How I Met Your Mother (CBS)
Medium (CBS)
The Mentalist (CBS)
NCIS (CBS)
NCIS: Los Angeles (CBS)
Two and a Half Men (CBS)

Again, we'll know the whole story later today, and I'll post it in the fall upfronts thread just as soon after that as I am able.

I hope ABC picks up Old Christine. I just started watching it a few months ago, and it is one of my favorite comedies! I just love how dumb Christine is, and how Wanda Sykes reacts to her.

I am a huge Cold Case fan..I think part of the problem with it is its location on Sunday night...with CBS ALWAY having sports running late, its no wonder ppl did not watch this. I missed a TON of episodes because I did not set my DVR properly to overun into the news...I beleive the show was JUST starting to get better, and it will be sadly missed by both me and DH..

As for GW...I gave up also just before Jim died..he was my favorite on the show...I am just glad Medium made the keepers list!

I used to watch Ghost Whisperer but gave it up a couple years ago, just lost interest in it I guess. I will definitely miss Cold Case, it's one of my favorites. I wish they'd leave the medical shows alone long enough to find an audience. Like someone else said, they are on for just a few weeks and get axed too soon. Like they did with Three Rivers. I'm about ready to stop watching any new show that comes out. Just wait and see how they do, and if they do well I can watch the season on Netflix when it comes out. That way I won't get interested in a show and enjoy it only to have it cancelled.

I hadn't heard about The New Adventures of Old Christine getting cancelled, but we stopped watching that one awhile back too. Her relationship with her brother just gets too weird sometimes. We liked Gary Unmarried at first, but when they changed his occupation from painter to radio guy we lost interest. We liked Accidentally on Purpose, but not surprised it got the axe.
