Hi everyone,

Well I thought I had all of our plans set for our January trip but last night my dear DH threw a wrench at my plans. Here is our plans thus far....We will be leaving on 1/15 for a 7 night non Disney Cruise (DMIL, DFIL, DH, DD10, DD8, and myself) then afterwards we are staying at BCV for 3 nights, then we were to switch over to Pop Century for 3 more nights before leaving on 1/28 for home.

Well, now my DH wants to stay at a moderate instead of Pop because those 4 days we will be spending more time at the resort or doing "other" Disney things instead of going to the parks (going to Epcot/DHS one of the days) therefore he wants to take advantage of the amenities at a moderate resort, which to me is a good idea too.

Now here is the fun part....we have already stayed at POR and POFQ (our favorite moderate resort), but we want to try a new moderate so the 2 in the running is CSR and CBR. Both of these resorts have very good qualities about them therefore for DH and I it is a toss up to which one we want to stay at.

I would ask the girls which one they would like to stay at but the 3 extra nights that we are staying is a surprise to them.

Soooo, could any of you wonderful DISers please tell me the good, bad, and ugly about CSR and CBR. Thanks for any help you guys could give me..:goodvibes

P.S. sorry for being so long winded :)

CBR is our favorite resort. Have never stayed at CSR. They are both big, but I think the only big difference is CSR has 2 queen beds and CBR only have 2 full size beds, unless you are a party of 2 and want a King room.We just love the tropical feel of CBR. Love the court yards. Would make our breakfast in the room and go sit in the courtyard and eat it. Very nice.

My favorite mod is CSR. I love the theming, the Pepper Market, the landscape. It just really feels "Disney" to me.

I was born and raised in FL so the tropical theming of CBR doesn't do much for me

Given the ages of your kids, I'd suggest CSR. The pool and slide at CSR is one of the best on property for elementary and older kids - there is plenty of room to play or throw a football in the pool, and the slide is the longest of the moderates. Even in January, my kids always find time to swim. CSR also has a large hot tub.

CSR has queen beds instead of doubles, and they are very comfortable. There are sliding wooden doors separating the vanity from the room (instead of a curtain) for more privacy and better for blocking noise and light if someone is getting ready in the morning.

CSR offers some additional amenities over the other moderates - a fitness center, spa and salon, and room service (more limited than the deluxes, but still a reasonable selection). Bus service has always been excellent during our stays at CSR. We enjoy the food at the Pepper Market and find that our picky eater and our more adventurous eater can both find something they like to eat.

Thanks everyone for your opinions and help. I have been going back and forth about which one to switch to. I think both resorts are very pretty, however, I am leaning more towards CSR because I really like the decor of the rooms, but on the other hand, I think a Nemo room at CBR would be really fun to stay in as well. Another question I have is where exactly are the preferred rooms at both CBR and CSR? My DH wants to spend the extra money on a preferred location because he wants to be closer to the food court and main building. And are the preferred locations anywhere near the main pool at either of the resorts? Thanks again for any help that you can give.

AAAAHHHH such agony, however, I would much rather be stressing over this kind of stuff than the typical everyday life stuff :rotfl:.

I visited CSR and did not like the Pepper Market set up. We usually get breakfast at the food court every morning and are used to the great POR food court, so Pepper Market would take some getting used to. Something to consider if you plan on using the food court at all.

However, I'd probably still pick CSR for 3 nights since they have queen beds. Queen vs double makes a difference to us. I'd just avoid Pepper Market for 3 days.

Preferred rooms at CSR are casitas 1, 2 and 3. They are all close to the main building/food court. They are not that close to the main pool. We prefer the cabanas at CSR - close to the main pool, but not that far from the main building. The cabanas are not preferred buildings. Casitas 4 and 5 are also good non-preferred locations if the pool and the food court are important.
