Which do you like better and why? Going spring break with 6 yr olds who love pools, slides, community rooms (like at DVC).

The Dig Site pool at Coronado Springs is great. But neither of these two resorts have anything like the DVC Community Halls. Both have arcades (not that big), but no activities like at OKW or BWV.

CBR has a great main pool plus smaller pools all throughout the property. While doing laundry the kids and I just lounged at one of the smaller pools by our room which was right next to the laundry room. The main pool has a slide and is greatly themed. Lots of fun there!:thumbsup2

I love CBR, however their main pool is going under refurb for much of 2008. So if the main pool is your main thing, I'd go with CSR. I also think the pool at POR is very cool.

CSR! Great pool and slide combo. Check out my CSR website below for pics and info.

CSR has a great pool (huge) with a bigger and better slide than any other mod. The arcade is right at the pool area and they have a playground, beach volleyball and a ping pong table there also. There are several quiet pools as well. We loved the dig site at CSR and spent many days there just hanging around. Oh, forgot to mention the huge hot tub!

I've stayed at CBR many times. First time when my kids were 7 & 11, and they loved it....the main pool, the quiet pools, the arcade, Parrot Cay... It was actually our best family vacation ever. Last April, my husb and I stayed at CSR for the first time. I think I actually prefer CSR. However, personally, I'd probably choose CBR if going with small children, because of the food court. It's quicker, less expensive and has many kid friendly options and just seemed easier.

CSR pool area is great and they will love the slide ! Great resort overall !

Unless they rebuild the CBR slide while they refurbish the pool next year, it is really short and slow. But then it will all be closed during your trip so that should make the decision for you.

What is the dig site? This sounds like something my son would like.

The main pool at the CBR is scheduled for rehab but there are quiet pools at each of the CBR villages. Disney is going to add slides to each of the quiet pools during rehab.

The CBR is great for kids. Like I said, each village has their own quiet pool and a beach. The beaches are always clean and well maintained. The kids' chicken nugget meal come in plastic sand pails they get to keep. Comes in handy when you spend time at the beach. Some of the beaches have small playgrounds for the kids.

The CBR food court has a wide variety of foods to choose from and is very kid friendly. The various stations sell burgers, hot dogs, chicken nuggets, pizza, pasta, salads, hot and cold deli sandwiches, rotissiere meats, veggies, fresh baked items and lots more. At breakfast, you'll find assorted breakfast meats, eggs, omelets, Mickey waffles and fresh baked sweets and breads.

Like someone else mentioned, if you have a need to do your laundry, the laundry facilities are right next to the quiet pools and not too far from the beaches. You can do your laundry while relaxing or swimming.

You can also rent pontoon boats, watermice, bicycles and surrey bikes at the CBR marina. Our kids loved renting the surrey bikes and riding around the lake and resort.

The rooms at the CBR are a little larger than the other moderates. Believe me, I appreciated the extra room since I always bring too much stuff and buy too many things while on vacation. I like the fact that the beds are raised and I can store my luggage underneath.

The bathrooms at the CBR have two sinks which comes in handy when everybody is trying to get ready all at one time. Mousekeeping was very good during our two stays. The room was always kept clean and we were provided with plenty of fresh towels and extra coffee.

Hope this helps, Lisa

I vote for CSR too. The main pool there has a great slide and is much better pool to us. DS was I think 7 when we stayed there and the pool was a much bigger hit than the CSR pool the year before.

They have quiet pools at CSR too and you can do laundry while they enjoy a swim just like at CBR.

Buzz has a great site for info on CSR. :thumbsup2

I would've said CBR because I think the resort is just a bit more family oriented but I just got back from CSR and that pool is really cool looking!!! It was just DH and I and a bit chilly for us native floridians for swimming -so we didn't get to use it but I think your kids would love it! I found myself wishing -if only for a tiny second- that we'd brought our kids along on our anniversary trip. :goodvibes The pics online really don't do it justice IMO- except maybe for Buzzs pics:thumbsup2 The resort is very big and I don't normally mind walking but that is the only thing that might turn some families off. If your kids are active they should be fine though- I saw many familes walking the pathways back and forth from the pool area to El Centro and in between. Oh- but if you decide on CBR- I'm sure it will be great too. That was our first on-site resort experience and it was lovely.
Have fun!!!

CBR's food court was faster, but CSR's food court offers a better selection, IMO. If you are like me at all, one thing that disturbs me at WDW is a lack of fresh fruit and fresh veggies. On our last trip, with dining plan, (not at CSR or CBR) we still found this to be an issue. Maybe it was our menu choices...but at CSR they have a whole station of fresh fruits and salads. At breakfast, you could get a little cup of salsa (love salsa on my eggs) for free. The kids in our family like Mexican food so that makes it easy to incorporate beans, tomato, peppers, etc.

If you choose CSR consider the DDP. The food court at CSR offers one of the best values in QS dining, that's actually only semi-QS. If you are paying oop though it's on the pricier end of QS places.

Ido... if pool is an issue for where you want to stay then DO NOT BOOK the CBR... the main pool will be down for refurb till SEPT 08... CSR pool is amazing... It sounds like this should be an easy decision for u now! :)
