CBR Questions

Got my ressie yesterday for FD at CBR, standard room. We have never stayed there before but loved CSR when we stayed there. Anyway, I really don't know what to ask for as far as room request. My criteria is being near one of the first bus stops as we have a wheelchair to load .... my son can get out and walk on, but need a space for the fold up chair and if a bus is already loaded, it is hard sometimes to get on with it. He also needs a place to sit as he cannot stand and ride. I know that we will not be close to the food court as we have a standard room. We also like peace and quiet if possible. Ii don't believe I want Trinidad South, but all other areas look like they would be manageable. Any thoughts or suggestions?

Let me first say I have stayed at both and I am in no hurry to ever go back to CBR I would go back to CSR in a second. 1st and foremost the bus situation there are a lot of bus stop in the resort that pick up and drop off. Usually the 1st pick up is at Martinique and that is where we stayed so I highly recommend you request a room there this is most likely guarntee you a seat in the when you are heading to the parks on the way back my family and I almost always had to stand. It is a big resort and the busses are usually packed. If you don't request either Martinique or Trindad South you are very far away from the food courts as well. There is a resort bus that you can take from other islands to get there but it takes awhile. Some resorts you can fax a room request to 10 days before you trip and state what kind of room you want a why. They can't promise you'll get the room you want but it may help. I love CBR and depending on what time of year you are going the buses should be ok. My last trip had several wheelchair riders and they will make room on the bus for them. If you look at the resort map that may help you to get an idea of which building is closest to what you are looking for and then request that building. Martinique or Trinidad North are your best bets for being closest to the pool and food area. However, those areas have some buildings that are further away. So look on a map and request the closest building also floor level b/c there are no elevators. I am sorry to say that I don't remember what busstop is first.

There is no first or last stop in CBR. We always stay at Jamaica or Aruba and sometimes bus leaves right to the park and sometimes goes for more stops around resort. I never saw crowded buses going to the park, we always have a seat. As for wheelchairs, there is always a space and driver will take you and your son first before others on your stop to secure a wheelchair. You son may stay inside a chair during the ride, it will be secured. I would suggest to stay in preffered location so your son would not have to deal with Parrot Island bridge, it is inclined. A good thing about CBR, even so it is huge and spread, main area(food court, main pool, arcade, store) all in one place, so if you take preffered location, CBR will feel like a very compact resort.
