cbr positivity please!

i have to admit most reviews i heard of cbr have been quite negative, the buses,people etc. can someone pleaz tell me something good!
its my 2nd visit to wdw (last stay was pop)and i hope i made the right choice?!

Stayed at CBR twice, 15 years apart, once pre-marriage and once with kids (but both times with the same woman ), loved it both times.

The only bad thing I can say about CBR is that I'm not there right now.

CBR is wonderful - I've been there twice myself in the past few years. It's really quiet and very, very beautiful. Definitely check out Safetymom's FAQ threads. They will answer all your questions.

It's just about ready to snow where I am...and I wish I was sitting on the beach at Martinque with a Caribbean Smuggler in my hand right now!

I was worried about all the bad reviews I had heard of as well. We went this past June and honestly, I can't find one bad thing to say about CBR. We had a wonderful time and can't wait until we can go back again.

CBR is a nice resort. I like the food court more than the other moderates. The resort is themed well. It's very nice if you want the beach idea in your vacation.I live about 5 min. away from the beach however, so I prefer POR, it's more of a change for me. Otherwise, CBR is just as nice.

You will love it!!


The only reason we haven't returned to CBR is because DH fell so in love with Disney that trip (it was his 1st trip, mine & the kids' 4th trip) that we took a DVC tour on our last day & ended up joining!! Now we stay DVC.

We stayed there for 8 days over the summer and loved every minute of it! The quiet pools were nice....not too crowded at all. The resort was peaceful, never ever were we disturbed by loud noises. Old Port Royale had everything we needed and/or wanted.....and SHUTTER'S!! Go to Shutter's for dinner, it was fabulous!!!! My daugher had her hair wrapped there, there was a station by the large pool, she loved it and hated when it was time to take it out.

We really loved CBR and will stay there again next summer!

This is my favorite moderate.

The buildings were built before Disney got quite as cheap so the rooms are little bigger and my "parking" lot view generally has a lot of landscaping in it.

THere are lots of quite pools, I like the food court and I really enjoy the relaxed peaceful atmosphere.

I have stayed at all the mods and CBR tops my list by a huge margin!

The CBR is my favorite moderate resort in disney. It was nice and peaceful there and relaxing.

We stayed there two trips ago. We stayed in Aruba, it was very quiet there! The resort is beautiful and when you cross the bridge you can hear the birds and our kids loved the hammocks. The only thing I would do differently if I stay there again is get a perferred room At night it is a long walk to take for a drink. That was the only thing I did not like about it and that is really nothing major! Enjoy!

We've stayed there twice - last time was May of this year. I have to admit that bus service was not as good this time, the room did not seem as clean, and we actually came back one day to find that housekeeping had left our door partially open. But those are things that could happen at any resort so I wouldn't let that affect your decision. If you like the idea of a Caribbean theme you will love CBR. It is absolutely beautiful and there are lots of nooks and crannies to explore - even after 2 visits we haven't seen everything. As for bad bus service, if you have a car just drive to the parks. The parking lots at the resort are nice and shady and seem to be a pretty easy walk from most of the rooms and it isn't that difficult to find your way around property. Even considering the negatives from our last trip, I would definitely stay there again.

as long as your not running late already and relying on WDW buses you'll be fine just the resort transportation reflects the Caribbean philosophy no worries they will get you there.

We were at CBR for our honeymoon last month and we loved it!

We had no problems whatsoever - and we used the bus service most of the time we were there.

Next time we get to go, we will probably stay at CBR!

The grounds are very beautiful and the Port Royale food and shops were nice.

We have stayed at WL and AKL, but CBR is our favorite! Beaches and hammocks and beach chairs, all the pools, the boat rentals on the resort's own 45-acre lake, the beautiful 1.4-mile Promenade walkway around the lake, all the convenient bus stops, the great food court and gift shops, and the VERY friendly CM's! Plus, because it's a large resort and spread out, it is quiet! You'll love CBR!
