We have stayed at CBS the last few times we have gone and are booked again in 2 months. However we have considered one of the por resorts and wonder what you like or don't like about them.

I've stayed at both. My preference is POR. They are both great but I think the food court at POR is nicer and I enjoy the grounds at POR a little more. Plus the boat ride to DTD from POR.

If you don't mind the walking a CBR then you will fine with he walking at POR riverside. They are very roughly the same size. POFQ is much much smaller and therefore there is far less walking. There is only one bus stop at POFQ. There are quiet a few stops at riverside. Both POR resorts now offer queen beds which CBR does not.The POR resorts have also just been given a room makeover. CBR does imo have the best pool. As a guest at riverside you can use the POFQ pool and vice versa.

I prefer POFQ for its size, it is a very intimate property + you get all the benefits of riverside. There is also a boat to DTD.

<----Not a fan at all of CBR...Sorry. but We did like POR a lot.Not as much as CSR, which IMHO is just a step down from Deluxe... POFQ is nice just a lil too close but to me a lil too claustraphobic for my taste. Nice though. POFQ just is on the kiddish side especially the main pool area. POR has a sit down restaurant and both have good food courts, ( both have boats to DTD) YeeHaw Bobs is a must see if staying at POR..If you having considered CSR, maybe give a look, it's very nice:thumbsup2

CBR is our favourite mod, and we have always loved our stays there. But we have also stayed multiple times at both POR and POFQ. We like the compact feel of POFQ and now that my mobility is more restricted we have decided to stay there more often. There are no quiet pools though, and the pool isn't as exciting as the ones at the bigger resorts. No TS restaurant here either. But the resort is easy walking distance to POR with it's lounge and TS restaurant.

As PPs have noted, POR is roughly the same size as CBR and a significant amount of walking can be involved if you aren't in a preferred room (sound familiar?) I think their main pool area is great if you have kids who love to play in and near the water. It may just be my imagination, but it feels like you can get a bit more shade there too. And we really like the food court there.

POR for sure! And I believe the renovations are just about finished, which means yes, queen beds in all rooms. I found the new rooms to be adorable, and the beds were very comfortable!

Well, I guess it doesn't even matter now:( their are no more rooms available at any of the po resorts- I will wait until our 45 day window and see if anyone cancels.

Good luck. We love POR. Got a newly renovated room last Aug. in the mansion section, our pref. and it was very nice.
But if nothing opens, you'll still be in WDW, and CBR is a beautiful resort. Love those beach hammocks.

I was going to say this. I tried to change my ressies and there wasn't availability in the Sept-Oct range...

Keep trying, maybe something will open up at POR! I also suggest taking a shot at CSR. That's my favorite mod and POR is 2nd.

We have stayed at POFQ & CS and while we loved them both, I really loved how small FQ was. In April we drove to CBR and walked around to check it out bc I would love to stay there (until I found out they don't have queen beds and no plans to upgrade them). I love the theme & look of CBR but to me, FQ can't be beat as a mod bc of the boat to DTD, the use of Riverside pools and the closeness of walking to everything. What FQ does lose on to me is their beds. I think they are so uncomfortable! We are flying this trip and I told DH the first stop is walmart to get a foam matress cover. The beds and CS and AKL were amazing but the beds alone weren't enough to keep me away from FQ.

Okay.........I just happen to fall upon this one. Now it is making me double guess our plans. We ALWAYS stay at POFQ. I love the fact that it's so compact. It's never a far walk for the food court, pool, bus stop, boat, etc. When I booked our trip (11/29 - 12/7) POFQ was not available. UGH. I made me so sick  that I could have cried!!! Should have booked earlier. Anyhow, our only options for a moderate was CBR and POR. I know what POR is all about since the bus for POFQ stops at POR for certain parks, plus I've jogged the path that goes from POFQ to POR. We also stayed at POR in 99. I figured we would try something new at stay at CBR. I was very nervous after reading the size of that resort. I was starting to feel better about CBR after reading a few posts, but now this one is making me want to start checking availability at POFQ on a daily basis. :confused3 Ugh. Wondering if I should switch to POR or just stay w/ CBR.

I like POR alot and don't care for CBR at all. Seems no matter what you are close to at CBR it makes you far away from something else. Plus, the kids are getting older (bigger) and double beds are a non-starter for us.

I like cbr-I have no complaints. We have stayed there 3 times and thought it would be nice to try something new:) the last 3 times we have stayed in trinadad north- not a preferred location- but close to port royale. Asked for first floor room close to the bus stop. It has been awesome to hop of the bus and be at ur room in 3 minutes:) no complaints with cbr:) just wanted to try something new:)

I haven't been to CBR but have been to POR. The grounds are beautiful. The food court is pretty good, nice pool, loved the boat to Downtown Disney. Some people think it is too spread out but that doesn't bother me at all. I've heard spotty bus service, but didn't experience that either :). I'm sure either one will be great!!
