I have reservations for 3-31 5 nights without a AAA discount and a preferred building! We have never stayed there! My kids are 11 and 7!

We would like to stay at POR and I would save $281.00 because I can get my discount! All of the discounted rooms at CBR are gone...

It makes me leary because I think that the food court might still be down!

So many pros & cons....we would like to try a new resort
We have already stayed at POR twice! My DH wants POR but to me the downside was the hike to the Food Court!

He doesn't want to stay at Coronodo again way too big!
Kids thought POFQ was too small the arcade of course!

Help.....and another resort to add to mix is WL is $100.00 more a night for a Woods View!:confused3

My vote would be for the Caribbean Beach Resort! Have you ever stayed there? If not, I can provide tons of information which may help calm your fears. Lisa

now we have never stayed there!!

the larger rooms sound wonderful!

you can email them to me that would be great!

Just a couple of thoughts: First of all, I've never stayed at either, but I thought from reading the DIS that CBR was actually more spread out than CSR:confused3 But aside from that, if the only reason not to stay at POFQ is that your kids are not happy with the arcade size at POFQ, you know you have the use of amenities at both POR and POFQ. It sounds to me like you and your DH both like the idea of a smaller resort (shorter walks to everywhere). POFQ would seem to fit that perfectly - a small resort with the use of amenities for 2 resorts.

CBR is a beautiful resort. We have stayed at CSR, POR, and CBR and we love CBR.

The preferred buildings at CBR are located on either side of the food court and main pool. They are great if you don't want to do a lot of walking. It is wonderful to sit outside and view the lake or pool while you eat.

The boats are fun to do on the lake for the whole family.

You might want to read the CBR thread listed below. There are lots and lots of people that love CBR.

AAA discount that is left for my time frame is POR and Cornodo and WL but that is $100.00 more per night!

Martinique is on my reservation....I paid for a preferred building is there a certain number I should request in Martinique?

I would save the money and go with POR.

There have been many posts that even with the food court undergoing rehab POR still has a good selection of grab and go items. Of course your room location is just luck of the draw. You might be close to the food court, you might be a little walk away. But you never know, so it is a risk you take when you book there.

I agree with your kids that POFQ is not for them. IMHO that resort is more for adults or people with very small children. The pool are is geared more towards small children, and the arcade area is small.

You could go with CSR. It is not really any larger than any of the other moderates, I think it might be smaller than CBR. And CSR does have the little shuttle that will pick you up and take you to the main building. Then again, room location is just luck, and you might get one close to the front. And your kids would like the pool too. It has a very cool slide.

If you change resorts you could always do a character meal with the money you save.

Good luck choosing. You really can't go wrong with either CSR or POR.

I've stayed at CBR, POR, and POFQ... and my favorite is CBR! The tropical paradise themeing is great, and the hammocks on the beaches is a great way to relax after a day at the parks. I also love the food court- it is large and gives a good variety of food choices. The resort is large, but if you are staying in Martinique, you are very close to the food court and main pool, so you don't have to worry about long walks. POR is very nice also and is beautiful, but I prefer the tropical feel of CBR.

My kids are 7 and 11 and we are going to CBR Feb 10-17, first time at CBR. We have stayed at POFQ and CSR, enjoyed them both, but we like to keep trying new places. I can't help you now, but will post about our trip when we return.

I would go with CBR. We loved it the most of the mods (and we have stayed at all of them). That rate you have is for preferred so you will be guaranteed to be in a great spot. Martinque also has a lovely quiet pool that my kids preferred over the main one. I also found that CBR's transporation to be better than POR's since they don't share buses. You are going over spring break, very busy time. I love POR dearly but for the life of me hate it that at even busy times they share buses with POFQ. And POR is picked up last. CBR does not share buses Also, even though the grab n go is open at POR that would drive me nuts to not have a food court with a full selection. And since you are dying to stay there, why not give it a try. I know you can save money with POR but sometimes you have to just look at it as paying for the vacation you really want and be happy with that. Good luck with your choice!

Martinique is on my reservation....I paid for a preferred building is there a certain number I should request in Martinique?
Just to clarify ...

You may have paid for preferred location, and you may have requested Martinique, but you might also be assigned a room in Trinidad North. There's no way to reserve an exact village. Preferred location is half of Martinique and all of Trinidad North, and if you paid for preferred location you are guaranteed to be put in one of those buildings, but they can't possibly already assign you to a specific village or building.

Generally speaking, closer to Old Port Royale is better. Here's a map of CBR:
This should help you determine which building you'd like to request.

Thank you so much....I gave Martinique to my AAA agent and that is what is stated on my room requests along with ground floor and non smoking!

I do like the idea of not sharing buses!

Should I leave my request as is!

Thanks!

Then both locations are a short walk....correct!

Did you pay for a preferred location? You could be in Martinique but it would be one of the further buildings that isn't preferred.

I think Trinidad North is also a great location if you paid for preferred.

Just a heads-up.

If you want to make sure you get your preferred room, check in early. The one time I requested a preferred room, I didn't arrive at Disney until 7pm. Upon check-in I was informed that all of the preferred rooms were taken because they had people who decided to extend their vacations, and they couldn't make them move. I always thought if you paid the extra $$$ for a preferred room you were guaranteed a preferred room, but apparently not.

I don't mean to make you worry, but if room location is that important to you, I thought you should know.

Either Martinique or Trinidad North are great for the preferred location. If you didn't pay for preferred then I would recommend Jamaica or Aruba.

I've stayed at both resorts. I probably like POR a little more than CBR, but both were really nice. CBR is very spread out. It also gets a bad rap from a lot of posters.

Anyway, although you probably want to try something new, I would save the $280 and stay at POR or I would go with WL. I wouldn't stay at CBR if I couldn't get a discounted room.

We stayed in Trinidad North (building 31). It was a very short walk to either the food court/main pool and the bus stop. We really enjoyed our stay there. Good luck with your decision.
