We LOVE POFQ and have stayed there a bunch. Currently booked at CBR for spring break. Stayed once in 2016 before the Skyliner and before the renovations and did not like the buses and the AC was loud-hated that walk to the main check-in too. We enjoyed the pools/beaches/atmosphere. SO, is it better now with the main check-in combined with the food court and the Skyliner and proximity to Riviera? Worth giving it a try again???.....kids are teens so thinking it might be more appealing than the one pool at POFQ and all bus transportation. Torn on this decision!

One of these days I'll stay at CBR. I've only had 2 stays where I was supposed to stay there and didn't for one reason or another.

We're doing Poly next time...because the world's been you know, the world. But maybe after that we'll FINALLY get to stay at CBR.

I stayed at CBR once-one night then moved to POFQ. We just had a bad experience. The resort is lovely but so spread out.

LOVE POFQ ! We haven't stayed there in many years but I would go back. AKL is our "home" resort and our favorite but POFQ is our favorite moderate (actually we have only stayed there and CBR the one night).

Polynesian is a great resort but for DVC, you are in one of the out buildings and there is no covered walkway. LOVE the ferry boat to MK :)

So positives of CBR- Skyliner, nice, new lobby and pretty good food options. Cons- poor bus service, rooms are tired/dated looking since it's been a while since refurb, skyliner goes down fairly regularly in rainy months and resort size.

The ACs in most of the mods and values are loud since they're window units. Sadly that's not changed.

As far as getting around, we found that our room (jamaica building 45) wasn't a terrible walk to the lobby, maybe 5 min over the bridge, but it got old really fast. So did the buses. I think had we stayed less than a week, we would have been fine but after 5/6 days of waiting on buses, full buses passing us by and "quick" walks to the lobby for food/things we needed got old really fast. The bridge to the lobby from our building worked great but when it's full, you can't easily go around people and while I am not a speed walker, some people are so so SLOW and it gets to be annoying after a week of that. We don't mind a walk, we've done it at POR plenty but I do think CBR is much larger than POR/POFQ and at POR and FQ you can easily walk around people. My girls are teens too and we all really wanted to like CBR but we didn't care for it and all left saying we should go back to POR. With POR/FQ closed we've been doing the DVC studios or the Swan. We were one and done with CBR.

Stayed at both recently (CBR just last September) and honestly I would say CBR right now. I also love the feel of POFQ and its really nostalgic for me, but without the boats running to Disney Springs I think I would feel trapped a bit with only bus transportation. I stayed at OKW in March and asked about the boats running again and got an answer that because there is no security on the boat ramps they won't be using the boats. Not sure if this a permanent change or just a Covid modification until the Port Orleans resorts open again. But even with temp checks removed from Disney Springs they have not restored the boats for OKW and SSR so maybe the security really is the issue?

The CBR rooms are not my favorite. But I really think the Skyliner and the addition of Riviera is a game changer. The CBR rooms that are far from the lobby and main pool are pretty close to the Skyliner and Riviera. So, not really a bad building in the house now. Also love the Banana Cabana and Sebastian's. The Skyliner not only gives you quick transport to Epcot and DHS, but also to the Boardwalk area and AOA/Pop. So it really just opens up the "bus-less" possibilities.

For me, if POFQ were open right now I would go for CBR if no boats are running to Disney Springs. Just so much more to do :)
