That is the question.
and why you would choose this resort over the other.
Preper to hear from those of you who have stayed at both.:goodvibes

I have stayed at them both and love them both! So helpful I know.

CSR has room service a spa and more dining options. So those are all nice.

CBR has the new zero entry pool, a lake with beaches to build sandcastles which is very nice (CSR has a lake but no beaches so to speak). CSR's pool is also incredible. It has the Jaguar slide which is really fun (and yes I went down it which wasn't a pretty sight but it was sure fun). Both resorts have quiet pools, I like the ones at CBR a bit better, they felt larger. But pool wise, I'd give both resorts even marks now that CBR has its new pool.

CBR has some great views of Illuminations. I remember laying on a hammock one night with a cocktail watching Illuminations and thinking life was good!

CBR rooms are a tad larger and have double sinks, however CSR rooms have queen sized beds now. I do believe CBR rooms are also getting queens, but CSR is mostly done with that. If you are tall, CSR is very good! I think both room styles are nicely decorated. And even though CSR has only one sink in the bathroom, it has a huge counter which is really nice.

Both resorts are large and spead out. CBR has preferred location rooms. Its the only mod that does. So its the only mod where you can pay extra to guarantee a location close to the food court and main pool. However, both resorts have lovely paths that connect you around and bridges that can give you shortcuts. There is no walk at either resort that will be more than ten minutes at a leisurely pace. I have walked them both and timed it. I am a geek!

CSR has more dining options however, we have always enjoyed the food court at CBR as well. It has nowhere near the options CSR has but its good. And its located right next to the main pool which I like. CSR has a lounge now that has nighttime entertainment I think. And they do have Siesta's near the main pool, which isn't a food court but has quite a few options and a drink refill statioin.

I would say that the most important step is go with the one that has theming that appeals to you. If the Caribbean is something that you love or want to love, CBR won't disappoint in theming. However, if the southwest, both in desert and tropical form appeals, CSR won't disappoint either!

You can't make a bad choice, maybe check out Buzz's site. I am betting Buzz will post soon and his site is linked to his sig! He has some incredible photos of CSR. At night that resort is gorgeous as its lights reflect on its lake. The CBR FAQ thread, which you can find on the WDW Resort FAQ sticky at the top of this board, also has lots of photos and information. And you can check out www.allearsnet.com for more information.

Hope that helps, good luck with your planning and have a great trip!

CSR offers a geat main pool area, awesome transportation, and terrific food options. CSR now has QUEEN beds too!! Also, CLUB LEVEL will be an option as of 01/2009!! Check out my CSR website below for pics and info.

Only difference beyond opinion that really stands out for me is the room size being bigger at CBR, same size as AKL and WL.

Probably just boils down to what you prefer theming wise. I dont like the way the food court is at CSR so its bottom of my list for mods. Thats just me, and its not a huge deal. May be really worth it for others.

Both of the resorts are large, and both are lovely and relaxing as a result.

We've only stayed at CSR; we don't particularly care for the themeing at CBR and don't like the food court at all (and we don't like messing with success). That being said: do you have young kids? They've opened a new pool at the CBR which is supposed to be very nice and they have new themed rooms (Pirates and Nemo). Obviously, being two adults over the age of 50, that holds no appeal for us, but it might to you if you have younger kids.

Now Kathy, I think a Nemo room could be very romantic!! :rotfl:

Those pirate rooms go for $25 a night more and are in the Trinidad South section which is the most distant of the sections. There are some pics of artist renderings on the CBR thread, not sure if there any actual photos yet or not.

The good thing about the CBR pool is that its zero entry and pirate themed. Great for kids. The CBR FAQ thread has some new pictures of that pool which just reopened a couple of weeks ago.

Both resorts are great for kids as they both have playgrounds, multiple pools, arcades and other things like bike and surrey bike rentals. CBR has boat rentals too and I think CSR does as well. So there's lots to do at either one of them.

CBR is my favoite by a hair, I have always wanted to vacation in the Caribbean and other than my Disney Cruise of years past, CBR is the closest I will get. But CSR is no distant second and I really want to stay there again and try out Cafe Rix and the queen beds.

CBR has seen some changes lately that I think will make it even better and more popular.

Again, you can't make a bad choice!

I love CBR but I don't get the need to cutsi it up. Besides, what is a fish from Australia doing in the Caribbean? Nemo is definitely lost!

My daughter however is dying for a Nemo room. I do like those blue, seawaterish curtains. The rest is pretty understated. But I just am a creature of habit and hate to mess with a good thing.

As long as Orlando Bloom comes with the Pirate room, I am there!

CBR is a beautiful resort. You will find fans of each resort. Personally we didn't care for CSR. I tried it twice and stil prefer CBR.

CBR has a great new pool area. We also weren't fans of the Pepper Market at CSR.

The best thing to do is take a look at each resort and decide what works best for your family. You can't go wrong with either one.

CSR!! I love CSR for the atmosphere, great CM's and the deluxe-lite feel. CSR offers a spa, salon, full menu room service and fitness center not to mention a terrific main pool area and the best transportation that is not shared with any other resort. It's like taking two vacations in one. Queen beds too!

:rotfl: That made me chuckle. I needed that everyone in my house woke up on the wrong side of the bed and were yelling at me

First, yell back--let them know you are the boss!

Second, Amy certainly knows how to make one laugh--she has gotten me through some really tough times. She is a hoot!

I barely had me feet on the floor or even knew my name yet! They all got a good yell back but I sure do hate starting my day off with yelling. I need to ease into my day:laughing:

Most of the post that I've read that belong to Amy have made me laugh. I agree defiantely a hoot!

Why thank you ladies! Its good somebody in this world loves me!

My daughter sort of yelled today too. Apparently school starts way too early and somehow she implied that is my fault!

I didn't yell back, just gave her a look. That stopped her dead in her tracks in a big old hurry. Yelling would have been next and I can yell way louder!

We have stayed at both.

We would not return to CSR.

CBR is our favorite moderate ~ Beautiful grounds, white sand beaches, hammocks by the lake, Caribbean music playing quietly everywhere, a relaxing tropical feel, a beautiful bridge and island, great and huge food court, friendly CM's, double sinks in the bathroom with LOTS of storage space underneath, and the LARGEST rooms of all the moderates! All that, PLUS a brand new huge zero entry pool and the rooms are currently being redone. It’s like a vacation within a vacation, a “leave your worries at the door” kind of place! :goodvibes

Good luck deciding and have fun!

Coronado Springs hands down over CBR.

CSR only has 4 bus stops...CBR has 6 or 7!!!

At CBR, we stayed in Jamaica and would spend 20 or so minutes on the bus everyday going to all the other stops--kinda wore us out!

Not to mention our room was about half a mile from the bus stop and an even longer walk from the food court and shops--does anyone really need more walking in Disney World?

On the upside, both resorts are beautiful outside, however we preferred the interior decor of the CSR over the CBR.

Have stayed at CBR twice before and had the time of my life - Stayed at CSR in August and had an awful time. Housekeeping was not so great and when it comes to crowd control they were not prepared at all. Granted, I was down there the week of Hurricane Fay so of course the resort was packed. Took us about 2 hours to get into the Pepper Market just before peak time and when we finally did get in I never recieved a drink from the waiter. Thank goodness we had a room on the first floor though because I was pretty sure the 4th floor almost blew away.

So yeah.. CBR would be the way to go :thumbsup2

We've stayed at both and if we do moderate again, we will be returning to CBR. We loved the relaxing tropical atmosphere. The new pool looks amazing!!!! :thumbsup2

I'm with Little Sister on this one. We love CSR. We love the feel of the Pepper Market as opposed to the food court. We like the smaller resort size, and less bus stops. There are also elevators if you have mobility issues, so you are not limited to staying on ground floor. Also, there is a spa and convention center available at CSR. I will say this though, both resorts are gorgeous, have great amenities, theming, and pools.
We have stayed at many resorts on disney property, and CSR was the best moderate we have stayed at. However, I much prefer the villas to them all because of the availability of the kitchens, living rooms, and having up to 3 bedrooms (we traveled with 11 people the time before last).
