CBR or AKL

We've stayed at both. AKL is great. Would never stay at CBR again. Splurge for the savanna view at AKL. You'll be glad you did.

Definitely change to November 30th! Crowds will die down, but even better than that is that everything will magically transpose to Christmas decor! It will be so beautiful in Disney, and just wait until you see the tree in the lobby of AKL! We usually go each year the second week of December. The crowds are very low, and we get the benefit of Holidays all around the parks. Epcot is especially fun around the holidays. Each country has their own Santa, that tells their country’s Traditions, etc., which is always fun! I think you have picked a great resort and an amazing time of year to visit! Congratulations on your marriage and Honeymoon, Jane

Thank you

Don’t forget it might be a bit busier if Star Wars land is open. But I think your right to avoid thanks giving week

Just called to change over there

I requested the partial view of savanna but she said these rooms are at the very end and there a bit more dark and it's like a poll is across them so you need to tip too to see anything and she said I may just be better with a standard room

Can someone please explain this a bit more to me

What is the standard view over looking

Some are, some aren't.

And there a bit more dark

I don't agree with this at all.

I have no idea what this means.

and she said I may just be better with a standard room

Completely disagree with this.

What is the standard view over looking

Mostly parking lot or roof tops.

Can you tell me would you say the part savanna view is worth requesting?

Whys it only part savanna. What's the room like compared to a full savanna room

So how do I request this. Cos when I said partial view she never had a clue what I was on about

Call back and hopefully you get a less misinformed CM. I like to call it phone CM roulette. Sometimes I get lucky and the 1st one just enters what I want. But sometimes it takes a 2nd call.

I once called to add our standard request of Jamaica 45 and 2nd floor at CBR. The 1st phone CM kept insisting that I needed to request close to elevator as the hallways are very long. Well CBR doesn't have hallways or elevators. She would not drop it and wouldn't add what I wanted. Said never mind, called back and had my reservation noted with what I wanted in 2 minutes.

Haha nice to see everyone is trained up well lol

First time I stayed at AKL standard view, I was given a pool view room. It was lovely!

I think the biggest draw is also you get a balcony! Nice to take your coffee or tea in the morning, or a glass of wine in the evening! Also, the gift shop and the Mara (quick service restaurant) sells bottles of some interesting African red wines, and they are not pricey at all!

Hallways can be long, but at least it's all in one building with interior corridors.

I've never stayed at CBR or any moderate, so cannot comment. But CBR doesn't appeal to me.

I think you made a good choice!

Congratulations on your honeymoon! And if you have any questions on using your dining plan, ask away. One meal we're looking forward to next trip is Sunday Brunch at the California Grill. It's two TS credits (we're not on the dining plan, so paying out of pocket), but unlimited bubbly or mimosas, and wonderful options sound like what my husband will love!

You can find "mostly up to date" menus at www.allears.net if the Disney site is slow (to me it often is, as I have an archaic computer)!

How come California grill is unlimited bubbly. Are other resturants like that

It is only for their brunch offering. Other restaurants around WDW do brunch, but I have only been to CA Grill for brunch so I am not sure what the others include in the beverage department. Some of the dinner shows, such as Hoop de Doo also include unlimited beer, wine, and sangria. Not sure about others these are the ones I can remember off the top of my head.

The only brunch with unlimited bubbly or mimosas is California Grill. Considering how many I'll likely enjoy, it's a good deal (and the food looks top notch too; I enjoy sushi and salads, not so much sweets but they look lovely too).

Called up and that’s us changed over to AKL on 30th Nov 2019 for two weeks

Also requested the partial savanna view.

God so much money. Hope it’s worth it
