Hi All

So I'm contemplating booking CBR for my upcoming birthday trip in April with my Boyfriend. So my 1st choices POFQ and POR are both not available in a King Room the weekend I want to come. CBR is available in a king room and is much cheaper. Wondering if you would choose this location for a couples trip?

My other option would be to book a POR In a Riverview Double I would love a Riverview as I think it's romantic but was looking for a little more space with the king. The savings is $68.

Any direction is helpful
Thanks

Update to say that $68 is per night...

The beds in the non-king rooms are queen beds ... just in case if you are interpreting double as to mean a full bed.

I think POR and CBR are both "romantic" in their design ... I think by spring the new dining locations will all be open including the waterfront restaurant. That kind of sparks some interest to me.

CBR will still have construction with the tower next door and the gondola system/station. So it depends on if that would bother you.

I didn't realize there would be a waterfront restaurant that does sound nice and we definitely are going to make this a foodie trip.

DH and I were not fans of CBR. It was too large for us and we didn't care for the main pool set-up. I may be bias though because POR is our favorite moderate. I don't love the main pool at POR, but the food court is my favorite on property and we love the boat to Disney Springs. I would opt for POR even if it meant having two queen beds.

So that's what I wasn't sure about if they are similar in size, my preference was POFQ since it's smaller in size but they don't have any discounted rooms. POR is also my Favorite Moderate. I'm not much of a Walker due to asthma. This is my Boyfriend's 1st Disney Trip. When I went last year with my kids we had a car but due to the parking fees and the fact that I plan on adulting I'd rather not drive.

As long as the there is a hot tub I'm good with the pool as I don't mind heading to one of the quiet pools.

CBR is the largest moderate resort. It was noticeably larger than POR to us. They do have an internal bus, but we never wanted to hassle with it. Our room was in the Aruba section so it wasn't too far of a walk to Old Port Royale, but it was a haul from check-in at Custom House especially with our luggage in tow. The alternative was to take the internal bus to our room and wait for our bags to be delivered by the bellman. I think all of this is changing once DVC is open, but I haven't been following the construction timeline.

Thanks definitely some thing to think about sounds like it's closer to CSR then POR and I wasn't a fan of the size or the bus system there when I traveled solo. Especially with the construction.

I would say CSR is closer to POR, with CBR being the outlier. We like CSR and POR pretty equally, and found CBR to feel much larger than both. CSR is large but round - everything is around the lagoon. POR is "narrow" but long - everything is on either side of the river. CBR is both long and wide - if that makes any sense. LOL! CSR and POR each have 4 bus stops, and CBR has 7. However, its my understanding that the bus situation at CBR has improved since my last stay. I guess the buses don't stop at every stop anymore, so it doesn't take quite as long to get through them.

CBR will be a bit smaller now that Barbados and part of another section (Martinique?) was demolished. Also check in won't be at Custom House anymore within the week - it will be at the main area at Old Port Royale so that cuts out that part. It's still a large resort but not quite as large as it was.

I enjoyed the small size of POFQ, have not stayed at POR but walked over there for dinner one night. I think any of them would be fine. . We stayed in a queen room at POFQ for our anniversary and the size was fine, although we don't spend an excessive amount of time in the room.

Thanks wow it's a lot to think about. I didn't realize POR even had that much buses it seemed so much smaller when having a car but I guess because I wasn't so far in since we were in Oak Manor building 90.

That would mean CBR would have at least 6 stops that's a lot...

Prior to the demo at CBR it was the largest footprint moderate resort, POR is next, then CSR then POFQ.

The bus situation at CBR has changed since the renovation began, @dansdad can verify but thought I read there are two bus routes now vs one long one.

CBR has 7 stops, but I believe PP is correct in that there are separate buses that service the different stops. So if you get on at stop 1, it doesn't mean you'll be sitting through the rest of the stops. That was the case when I stayed there years ago, and was a huge negative, but that's been changed now.

Correct. They send 2 buses for each destination. One bus stops at Jamaica and Aruba. The other stops at Martinique, Old Port Royale, Trinidad North and Trinidad South.

It used to be 7 but with the removal of the entire Village of Barbados, there's only 6.

So which CBR area would be ideal for requesting so your not to far from the new main location?

Jamaica 45 and Aruba 51 are our favorites. Both are a 3-4 minute stroll across the bridge to Old Port Royale and the Main Feature pool. But if you book a King room then Martinique and Trinidad North are each a little closer.
