We are arriving at the CBR on Saturday and I am in the process of trying to figure out what to request when I fax them. Are there first floor rooms with king sized beds and regular bath rooms? We want to be close to the pool and the food court. I think I read that Martinique 25 is the building that we should request. Is there another building we should request as back-up? Also we are non-smokers if that has any bearing on the situation. Any and all help is appreciated!:D

I do not know for sure if there are king sized beds on the first floor, but I think that there would be. As far as backup buildings, Barbados 12 is a great building. It is not as far away as it seems from Old Port Royale. Also it is very quiet. Every village has a quiet pool and a bus stop, so that is not a problem. I hope you enjoy your stay!:)

We love CBR. We always request Jamaica building. It's a short walk over the bridge to the food court. There is a quiet pool right outside some of the doors though we never want to be that close to the action. We always had two double beds, so I don't now about any king beds. Also I think the bathrooms are all the same. Keep in mind we have only seen the Jamaica building. I'm sure you'll get plenty of advice from more experienced CBR fans! Have a great time!!

but not at CBR:( :(

Hi,
I can't help you with a king bed.. Because I have kids and haven't been that lucky to go with out them, even once..
But yes, building 25 is a great choice. We were in room 2551- but it was the second floor. It was a great room/view. Building 25 probably wouldn't have any bad views! The grounds around this buliding are beautiful.

Have a wonderful stay!

You'll probably do well anywhere in Martinique (building 25 is good, but I don't know about the king beds.

Trinidad North is also close, but on the other end, past the main pool. We were there last November and I thing building 32 is one of the closer to the pool and food court. Again, I'm not sure about the king beds.

And, as TerryN mentioned, Jamaica is just over the bridge from the main pool.

These three are the closest. I'm sure if you let the people at CBR know what you're looking for, they'll help you if they can.

Have a good trip :)

I am going to be checking in on Saturday as well and I am going to request Jamaica buliding 45. It is close to the pool and food court and I believe it is also the first place the busses drop off and pick up! I have seen some beautiful pictures of Jamaica and I heard that you should not miss the walk across the bridge. Maybe Seaspray will be able to offer you more advice. Her website is the best! Here is the link.

Have a great time! I can't wait to go!!!!!

We stayed in Aruba, and were on the first floor. We had a regular room booked for our Honeymoon, but they gave us a King and a full bath. Was a huge room in my experience. It has a ceiling fan, table, two chairs, amoire with TV/VCR, and drawers, plus a full dresser. We asked for an ironing board, and iron, which we got the same day. We also had a hair dryer, and coffee pot. The hotel also offers the individual Mickey soaps and shampoos which I took home for my nephew.

We would come back to the room each night to a different "towel" animal that the room service had made. We had an adjoining door but we never did hear anything from the people next door, and with the air conditioner on all the time we never heard anyone outside.

Have Fun!

Hi there!

I believe that there are rooms with king beds and full bathrooms (with a tub rather than just a shower), however I don't know which buildings they are in.

Buildings close to OPR are:

Martinique 26, 25, 24
Trinidad North 31, 32, 33
Jamaica 45 (this is the first building right across the bridge)
Aruba 51 (also right across the bridge)

Good luck, and have a wonderful trip!!!! :)

Sorry if this is a dumb question...is it necessary to fax the request for a specific building? Or can you request the morning of check-in? Also, if it is necessary, what should it say? Thanks for any help!

I should mention we faxed in our request but that was two years ago. I am unsure whether or not they still take faxed requests.

I did not realize I put in my last post we had a queen instead of a king until a little bit ago, but I wanted to add, it was a California King!! And yes, we had a full bathtub with a shower.

We stayed at CBR from the 18th - 21st of April. I had requested Martinique for my first choice and Jamica for my second. We ended up in Aruba 51 which was just across the bridge and was actually a very good building to be in.:)

I faxed in my request. It was for our daughter bday, so I don't know if that helped our not.

PLEASE NOTE THAT YOU CAN FIGHT FOR THE ROOM YOU WANT!

When we checked into CBR on the 21st, they had NO record of our room requests..... I argued (nicely and sweetly) until I got something I was satisfied with and that was ready. When my neighbor checked in on Friday, they wanted to put her in Trinidad South. She had requested and had been promised (!?) Jamaica 45. She knew that I had argued, and she did too..... and ended up with Martinique 25. HOW PERFECT! It is still the best location, especially if you have children. Just be a pain, but respectful, and they'll do their best to help you (or get you out of their hair!)

We had requested Martinique 25 prior to our arrival and again at check in. We ended up with Trinidad North with a courtyard view.

I was told location couldn't be guaranteed - they will do their best to honor your request. We were guaranteed a non-smoking room due to DD's asthma.
