Good morning! I just read on All Ears Net to allow about 45-60 minutes total for bus travel from your room to a theme park. I am just wondering how this works if the buses start about 30 minutes before the parks open. (I heard that somewhere.) We will be using Disney transportation, but will probably want to be at the parks when they open in the mornings, especially for EMH. Does anyone have any experience with this type of situation? Is the 45-60 minutes exaggerated? Thanks in advance!

It all depends on, how far your room is from the bus stop and the park you want to visit that day. The CBR is in a good location you are not too far from DHS and Epcot but AK and MK are farther out.
The buses run about every 15-20 minutes so if you have just gotten to the bus stop after a bus just left for the park that you want to get to you will have a longer wait.
I generally get to the bus stop a 1/2 hour prior to the time I want to get to the park. If I am going for a dining reservation then I give myself 45 minutes just to be on the safe side.

The longest wait we had for a bus at the CBR (in June) was 20 minutes and that was because we just missed the Epcot bus. It also wasn't during the really busy time of the morning. It was about 10:30 or so. Most times, they ran very efficiently. Sometimes, there were two and three buses at the bus stop at once.

We also never had a problem when leaving the parks at park closing. The buses came pretty often but they were pretty packed. But, that is expected during the closing hours. We usually hang around until some of the crowds leave so that the buses aren't so crowded.

We have stayed at the CBR twice. Once, we were in Martinique and the other we were in Jamaica. Depending on which entrance the buses take (there are two for the buses), either one of these villages are the first to drop off and the first to pick up.

I specifically remember looking at the clock on the bus and timing our trip to MGM Studios (now Hollywood Studios). From the time we left our village bus stop until we pulled into the MGM bus stop, it took 11 minutes. Our trip to Epcot was not much longer. The longest trip we took on the bus was to Downtown Disney. It took almost 30 minutes but there was an auto accident and the bus driver said we were taking the "long route".

If you are going to the Hoop Dee Doo, then you need to allow more time for travel. You will need to take a bus to the Magic Kingdom and then get on the boat to Fort Wilderness. It took us about 40 minutes but the boat stopped at Wilderness Lodge too. I think now they have a boat that goes directly to Fort Wilderness.

We had a dinner reservation at Boardwalk and it tooks us 45 minutes but that is because the buses do not go resort to resort . We caught the bus going to epcot and then walked over to boardwalk.

Another quick question... We want to do breakfast at 1900 Park Fare at 8:00 am, on a morning with no early EMH. Assuming the buses start around 8:00 am, since the parks open at 9:00 am, are there any other transportation options between 7:00 am to 7:30 am from CBR to GF than taking a taxi? Thanks!

The buses run about an hour prior to the park openings, maybe even a bit earlier. This is so guests can get to the Character Breakfasts and tours in the parks.
So all you need to do is to take a bus to the MK and then take the monorail to the GF. I would suggest that you get to the bus stop at the CBR no later than 7:15 this should give you time to get to the GF.

According to the WDW site, MK isn't supposed to open until 9, and there is no early EMH. Does this mean the buses won't start until around 8? We want our breakfast at 8:00 am. Any ideas other than a taxi? Thanks again!

I don't mean to be argumentative, but it is a matter of FACT that buses start running earlier than 1 hour before park opening times. Disney knows that they offer early ADRs at some theme park restaurants, and they like it when people depend on their buses, and therefore they DO make it possible to get to those ADRs using Disney Transport buses.

You can catch a bus to MK as early as about 6:30 a.m. to get to a 7:00 a.m. ADR. Disney Transport buses generally run about every 20 minutes, but those very early morning buses are more like every 30 minutes.

The last time I was at WDW, we were hoping for some early morning EMH fun at Epcot. I didn't know that in between the time I wrote down the park hours at home and the time of our trip, that Disney had taken morning EMH away from Epcot that day and given it to the then-named MGM. So anyway, the point is that my son and I boarded a bus at POFQ at 7:20 a.m. and got to Epcot plenty early for the 8:00 a.m. EMH, only to find that it really opened at the plain ol' 9:00 a.m. But people were getting there early for their early morning ADRs at Restaurant Akershus. In other words, we got on an Epcot bus 1 hour and 40 minutes before the park opened.

Thank you! That is exactly the information I was looking for. :)

Ok, my mistake, I meant to say an hour or so or so prior to the offical park opening. It may be closer to 2 hours prior to a 9:00 opening, 1 hour prior to an 8:00 opening.... So yes there are always buses running so that guest can get to the early breakfasts and tours...honest you will be able to get a bus. Be at the bus stop no later than 7:15.
