CBR and CSR swap during visit? Worth it?

We are going for 7 nights and are booked in at the CBR (2 kids, toddler and infant).

I can possibly swap to do half at CBR and half at CSR. Question is, is it worth it to uproot and switch resorts part way thru? Too much hassle? Do the resorts tend to help out with changing - i.e. bags and transport?

We love CBR! I haven't been to CSR, and while Buzz2001 has a great set of photos of CSR, the theming doesn't appeal to me. We found that we didn't make enough time to just relax around CBR... Our next trip will be longer and we'll plan some extra relaxation time at the resort. I know some people like switching resorts part-way through, but I don't think it's for us.

Me personally, I'm not a big fan of switching resorts. Just enjoy your 7 nights at CBR. You'll be at WDW!! Now you'll have an excuse for another trip

Perhaps I can help you with your dilemna. I have a 2 year old and we took him to Disney World at 11 months and also 18 months. I have also been there many times pre-baby. When he was 11 months we stayed at CSR. We haven't stayed at CBR with him, but we did before we had him. We are now planning our next trip and I wouldn't even consider CSR with him again. I would definately stay at CBR with him. CSR is great, but with a toddler and an infant, I would highly recommend CBR over CSR. CBR has several playgrounds, several beach areas, and also the island in the middle would be fun for little ones to just run around, look at wildlife, etc. I know that your question was really about switching resorts, but I thought you might like to know another mom's opinion that there is no need - you will love CBR.

Stick with CBR for your entire trip. If you are curious about CSR you can go visit it for a while. You are allowed to go visit other resorts.

Thanks for all of your help and insight.

It's because we originally wanted to book CSR (just by the photos - both internet and brochure). We didn't have a choice at the time of booking - we wanted moderate and CBR was the only moderate that was available for our dates.

Then I began thinking......... :-) ............... I figured since we couldn't get CSR for the whole trip, maybe we could get it for part? Dunno.... Even though all are apparently "the same" except for the decor, I just felt that CSR was "nicer" :-).....

In any case, I have "rethought" this and one evening this week when I was tired, I asked my husband if we did really in fact want to uproot and change resorts mid trip..... with two little ones..... ugh. The answer was no, for the both of us.

It sounded interesting at the time but then sometimes it's just better to leave well enough alone. :-)

We're gong to Disney, so as long as I'm not shipped off to Timbucktoo, who cares, right!? :-)

Don't get me wrong, I feel CSR is a nicer resort. If you don't mind switching resorts after a few days, then that's what you should do. Everyone is different so do what makes you feel best. Either way, enjoy your trip!

Thanks, we will. We did feel like CSR was nicer but ugh, got tired :-) I'd swap maybe if I had it for the whole trip... but with 2 kids, I think I'm better just to plant myself where we are. :-)

I sense another trip in your future

We had a great time at CSR with our then 2 and 7 year old. The pool area is beautiful, and they had a blast on their very nice playground. Whatever your decision, I know you will have a great time!

I prefer CSR to CBR, so I would pick it as the one place to stay.

As to moving during the trip someone else asked this recently and this was my reply based on our experiences.

We don't do this anymore due to the disadvantages so I can share those with you since others have provided why they do it.

On the day of the move you are essentially homeless. You can not get your luggage until after 3pm so plan accordingly. Also there is no way to know for sure when you will get into the new room therefore its very hard to plan ADRs for that evening. We have missed a few due to moving, did not get our room until late, luggage arrived late etc.

On the day of the move it always seems the little ones in our group, nieces, nephews etc really, really needed a nap and we had no place to go. One time one got sick right after lunch and it was a miserable afternoon. My Dad just went on and on about how if we had stayed put the kid could be back in the room.

Also you can't get settled in, as you know in a few days you will have to pack up and move. Also my Dad did not like the thought that on the day of the move he was paying for a room we might not get into until late afternoon. If we had stayed put he would have had use of a room all day instead.

Due to check in times, you truly at times pay a full day's for not much time before bedtime especially with little ones.

Many do this and it does not bother them. It is not worth the advantages to us anymore. We love all the Disney resorts therefore we are happy to just get somewhere and settle in.
