cavalier king charles spaniels

anybody have one? when I do those online quizzes to see what kind of dog suits you, this breed comes out on top. Mostly I put in that I want a mild temperment, little shedding,little exercise, under 20lb.

do these traits hold up to your experiences with the breed? Also, any ailments particular to this breed?

Someday I hope to adopt a Cavalier. I've done a bit of research on the breed. One important thing you should know is that the majority of Cavaliers have a heart defect that progresses as they age. I think many of them end up on cardiac meds over time based on the severity of their murmur.

This would be a pretty big drawback of this breed and I'm not sure how a person would be able to adopt a Cavalier with 100% certainty that the pup is free from the defect.
