CAUTIOUSLY doing Single Digit Dance

I'll try to be brief (LOL!!!!) After soul searching (and DIS surfing!!!) most of the night, I got up at 4am to pace. Decided to get organized and motivated. Wrote down all my issues and was on the phone to the dialysis unit (where Josh is seen by the doctors) at 5:30. Asked to speak to head of the Department, who is on vacation. Was NOT deterred and let them know this couldn't wait. Told my story, stood firm, and finally talked to another doctor (a GOOD one). He agreed NO BIOPSY tomorrow!!:Pinkbounc :bounce: :bounce: :Pinkbounc He did tell me that if he would have had one, he would not have been able to go next week due to possibility of bleeding--YIKES!!! If lab work is fine tomorrow, no problem. If lab work is weird tomorrow, they're going to do an ultrasound. But, at this point, unless everything goes to hell in a handbasket, we will be able to go!

Here's to praying and hoping and BELIEVING!!!

don't know the problems your son has but just off the top of my head, if the utrasound would be sufficient to r/o what ever they need to r/o, why on earth would they do such an invasive procedure as the biopsy???

hope everthing is fine

Thanks so much to all of you. In response to jann1033's question, all I have to say is "that's a REAL good question"--one I've been asking for a month!!!! The doctor he is seeing today likes to take things one step at a time instead of jumping ahead to the most serious procedures. The other doctor is much more "aggressive". If Josh would go in with a headache, I'm sure she'd probably want to crack him open and do exploratory brain surgery!! My problem is that there are three physicians that treat him and he sees each one on a rotating basis. Each week one of them is assigned to the children that week. UGGGGGH! Why can't things be EASY??

At any rate, prayin', hopin' and believin' that his lab work will be *perfect* today so I can get excited again!

Thank ALL of you!! Since I can't reach each one of you--:grouphug: Sending all of my best wishes your way!!!

Joshsmom,

our entire neighborhood is doing the happy dance for you and Josh - no biopsy-HOORAY!!!!!!! there have been many happy tears shed for you today . . . . and there will be more when we know you are where you belong: with Josh in Mickey's neighborhood!!!!!!!

hugs and love and tons of pixie dust coming to you from our little corner of the world (Athens, GA)

its going to be o.k.

No little sprinkles of pixie dust here, no sir. We are calling out the big guns! I've personally hi-jacked all the available snow-plows in our neighborhood, loaded them with pixie dust and driving them out to you! Okay, maybe not literally but you get the idea. God bless and please keep us posted!

Just in case you're wondering, we HAVE received the "snow-plows full" of Pixie Dust and it's all over my house!!! Needless to say, I'm not dusting for the next year--we need that Pixie Dust to keep us going!!!!

Labs yesterday were the BEST they've been since 12/18 (faith, trust, and pixie dust!!!). No biopsy scheduled, no ultrasound scheduled, no bladder scan scheduled. I'm still holding my ground about the crazy doctor! Next set of labs scheduled for Friday. At this point, I don't care what they say--WE'RE GOING!! :Pinkbounc :bounce: :bounce: :Pinkbounc

THANK YOU to EVERYONE who has sent prayers, pixie dust, and happy thoughts. WE feel your support!! Thanks to Dorothy and the DIS store, I have DIS gear for our trip!!! I'll be wearing my button every day and I would LOVE to meet any other DISers there!!

Can't wait to tell Josh he's going--his birthday is 1/5 and he'll find out that night that we're leaving the next morning!!! This is going to be GREAT!!!!!!

On Tuesday moring, while I am anxiously awaiting the last 10 days until *our* surprise trip!!! I will be saying a little prayer for you and yours. God truly does bless us all!

Good luck!

Deb::MinnieMo

Ah, the power of prayers and pixie dust! I'm so happy that Josh's tests came back so positive. I'm sure you're just busting to tell him about his surprise trip. Hang in there, you're almost there!

:Pinkbounc :bounce:

read the other thread first so see you there!!!:bounce:

Hi,

just wanting to check in and find out about today's lab work on Josh . . . just really want to hear some more good news

we are thinking about you and praying for you!

MamaQuack

MamaQuack: You are SO good!! Don't know how you can keep up with everything!

Labs were good--not as good as the other day, but good enough for the light to stay GREEN!! So, we're still going! Josh is going to be SO excited when he finally finds out. I wanted to tell him today because I just almost can't even KEEP this secret anymore!! Thank God for the DIS boards--I've been able to share so much and get so much in return!!

I'll probably post Monday night (Josh's 8th Birthday) when he finds out that he's going!! I'm sure I'll have Lots of good news then!!

Thanks so much for your support!

Josh is incredibly lucky to have a mom such as you and you are blessed to have Josh. I feel this trip will be fantastic! Looking forward to your report on Monday after you have told him. Have a magical trip. Caroline

Woo hoo!!! :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce:

I'm so happy that things are going well with the labwork and the planning. I've been sending lots of prayers, good thoughts, and pixie dust to you and Josh, and I know tons of others here have been doing the same.

I can't wait to hear Josh's reaction when he finds out about the trip!!

Joshsmom,

Thanks for the continuing great news! MY ds says going back to school on the 6th will be a little bit more bearable because he will be thinking of Josh and his Mom having fun with Mickey and the gang. We join all the other boarders in anxiously awaiting to hear what Josh does when you tell him, and then to hear all about what you do during your visit! We have big smiles again today. And tonight, when my neighbors come over for cocktails, we will all give a prayer of thanks. You've got a lot of support down here in Dixie!!!

Hope you are all packed!

MamaQuack

Did you check the weather forcast for Orlando? It's great! Especially with the cold snap we're having. (I'm in Madison, WI.) Have a great time, we leave right after you! I'll be thinking about you and Josh.
