The last two nights of our cruise Disney changed our food server on us. The guy who did such a great job (Alvin) was replaced by someone who was just awful. Dinner took and extra hour to be served both nights. The kids were going nuts as it was late seating to start off with. They said his room mate had the flu so they had to quarantine both of them just to be safe. Well guess what??? We're all sick as dogs now. It hit us the very last day. All I want to do is go to bed. My son's happy because he may end up with another full week off for Spring Break.

I hope the rest of you are doing well. Keep in mind that we took every single precaution there is. We constantly washed our hands. Never touched the hand rails. Used paper towels on the door knobs. Used a bacteria disinfectant lotion... And we NEVER get sick, until our Disney cruise anyway.

Time for Chicken Noodle Soup.

Sorry to hear about your misfortune. Hope everyone is back on their feet soon!!!:(

We were also on the 3/13 Western cruise. 3 out of 4 of us are still really sick, too. Hit us on Friday, the last day of the cruise. I hope you're feeling better soon.

I am so sorry to hear that you are sick - I just wanted to reply to your comments about using the handrails and paper towel on the doorknobs. The only precaution we took Jan'04 was to take a hand sanitizer with us and wash our hands before every meal and none of our group got sick. The flu is so sporatic and it just proves that you can try everthing in the book but if you are going to get sick it is just going to happen. There is not much you can do to prevent it. I just don't want you to think you were not careful enough because it sounds like you were more cautious than most. Good luck and hope you feel better soon.

We were on the 3/6 and my husband got GI. He thinks it was from the sun but that makes no sense. We had heard there were others quar. on our floor. My daughter and I caught something returning on Saturday...just getting rid of it now...it was brutal. Too bad for Alvin...we had him at breakfast a couple of times...he was great.

I live in Melbourne and the flu (and allergies) are running rampid down here. I've been sick for almost 5 weeks and on my second course of antibiotics. Pollen is really bad here too. My DD hasn't been touched by even a sniffle, so it must be that certain people are more prone to catching it.

Hopefully there will be enough pixie dust on the Wonder and Magic that the pollen will be overtaken!

Wishing you all happy and healthy cruises!

We were on the 3/13 Magic and my DS came down with either the flu or a bad cold on Thursday while on the ship and I came down with it this past Monday. Must have been a nasty bug on this ship!

Just curious: Those of you who got the flu on the ship, had you had the flu shot this year?

We caught a nasty stomach virus in WDW last month, and right now, it's running rampant through NE FL. My friend's DD just came down with it after a week in NJ. Seems to be everywhere. You do what you can, but sometimes it's just unavoidable. :(

I'm not sure if what we got is the flu. We had a really bad runny nose, lots of congestion, mild fever, but nothing else. I thought it was just a bad head cold.

Tis the season I think! My daughters and I all have sore throats and runny noses. I"m thinking it's not the flu for us, though, since I have had my flu shot. I think that it's just the season for this stuff and there's not much you can do about it...you're gonna catch it no matter where you are if you're gonna get it.

Well we weren't on the cruise but were in WDW last week and I now too am suffering from what I think is just about the worst cold I have ever had. I guess it is everywhere down in Florida! Hope everyone feels better soon! Lynn

The northwest isn't all that great right now either. We had beautiful sunny, windy weather for the past few days. Which of course made all those with allergies run inside. Now it's back to cold raniny weather, which I just know will develope into a cold in a matter of days.

Sorry to hear you all were sick. Hope you are feeling better soon. My DS22 had a case of the Flu last week here in Tenn so I guess it is everywhere. He is still not 100%. We even have special glasses we drink out of and so far DS14 and Myself are not sick(knock on wood)
I am sending Pixie Dust and chicken noodle soup Dust your way too!;)

Hope the family recovers quickly. Looking at the positive, I am happy your family did not get sick earlier in the cruise. - Mike

We were also on the 3/13 Magic and my DS4 got a GI bug day 3 of the cruise and my DH got it (24 hours) on Thursday our Sea Day. My Dad came down with fever and chills the day they returned. With 700 kids on board we figure it's bound to happen..we were also very careful with hand washing etc. That's probably why the other 6 of us (in our connecting rooms didn't get it as well!)
