So my older two kitties recently crosse the rainbow bridge, but before they did, we adopted a 1 yr old from the humane society back in June. She is very affectionate, loves belly rubs, and gets spooked by odd things like the ceiling fan or trash bags. We do not know the history for her first year of life so hope she doesn't think we are surrendering her to a shelter when we board her a few days next week when we stay on property but the house has too many things she can hurt herself with and I wouldn't be able to relax with her being unsupervised, alone right now.

I see a lot of information on dog boarding, but not so much for the cats. I see they have add ons, but I cannot find anywhere with a price list. Has anyone here had an experience boarding their kitty and can give me an idea of prices on the add ons even if it is dated? Can we go and visit with her during our stay? Thank you.

No experience with boarding, but where are you staying? Some resorts are pet friendly and a poster here recently reported seeing a cat in the window of one of the rooms. We hear about dogs more, but it appears cats are allowed at those resorts too.

She'd still be unsupervised during the day, so maybe that doesn't work for you, but there are probably fewer things to hurt herself on in the room.

And it triggered lots of discussion because pet cats are not allowed under the Disney pet program. Only dogs. But we dug more and found out it must have been an emotional support cat, as those are allowed at pet hotels.

Thank you both. Unfortunately, even ESA cats are not allowed at the resorts. They probably smuggled her in which...none of my business, lol. We're stay at the Wilderness Lodge so not pet friendly, even for dogs. It's a special occasion, otherwise we usually stay in our camper at Fort Wilderness and bring them[well now just her] with us.

Best wishes for you and your new friend! I’m a kitty mom too; my boy is an old-timer at 15. He has never done well being boarded locally, but fortunately we have family that can take care of him in our absence.

The Best Friends’ site does allow you to reserve online, but you may want to call first 407-209-3126. Good luck!

My parents boarded 2 cats at the Best Friends Kennel and were able to visit them during the day. One of their cats needed daily medicine, that's one of the reasons my parents boarded the cats there, it was convenient for them to administer the medicine there then drive the 2 hours to my sisters who was watching the other cats. When my parents were visiting the cats, they were put in a larger room and were able to get some of their energy out.
I can't tell you about prices but the convenience of being close to them is nice.
