If you've ever stayed in Category 11 I'd like to hear how you liked it. Also I noticed on the deck plan that some of the 11's are actually perpendicular to the other staterooms. Where do you enter those rooms? Are any of the 11's any different than others (like the secret portholes are to category 10's)?

Additionally, we are considering two Category 11's for our family of 4 and I noticed that they don't adjoin. Our kids will be 7 and almost 10 on the cruise. How do you think two non-connected (but next door neighbor rooms) would work for us.

Thanks everyone!

Before we knew about the secret porthole rooms, we always booked Cat. 11 when sailing on a budget. For hubby and I, it was just fine. I know that most people love the split bathrooms in the Cat. 10s and above, but we've never found that to be a big advantage. The Cat. 11s on Disney are larger than the more expensive staterooms on RCCL's older ships.
I often see families with non-adjoining rooms who are staying next door to each other, and it seems to work out well. I've noticed it as we walk through the hallways...seems to be pretty common.
Personally, I would not choose a stateroom with a "lengthwise" layout (i.e. more wall space on the hallway as opposed to a next-door stateroom). Hallway noise drives me nuts, and you can hear it more with an exposed wall. But if you are not picky like me, it might not make a difference. Sounds like engine noise lull me to sleep, but people talking and running in the halls drives me nuts.

We stayed in cat 11, room 5013. We had 4 of us, 2 adults, 3 1/2yo and an 8 month old. We had a porta crib in the room and a double,sit/stand carriage, and had no problem with space. We have also stayed in a cat 10(just 2 adults) and like Barb said, the split bath wasnt much of an advantage to us. I do my hair and makeup at the mirror over the desk and DH doesnt require much primping time, LOL!
We liked the set up of the room. You enter and the couch is in front of you. The bed was to the right and the bathroom and closet were to the left.
The dark didnt bother us at all, but we spent very little time in our room...only sleeping, changing, showering, and we did have 1 meal there. I wouldnt hesitate to stay in an 11 again.

We've cruised on Wonder twice in Cat. 11, once with two adults (6083) and once with three adults in 6085. We liked those rooms enought that today we placed our deposit for the Dec. 7 Wonder for two adjoining but not connecting Cat. 11's (7123 and 7125), since my son, his wife and my granddaughter are cruising with us.

We saw lots of families who had adjoining but not connecting rooms, and even a few who had an outside room directly across from an inside room. They didn't seem to have any difficulties.
