Thanks to all of you who so warmly welcomed me to this board a few days ago. Your the best! I was wondering how are the Category 11 Rooms? Are they really small and are the bathrooms really small? We booked a Category 11 Room (2 Adults, 1 Child) and I am alittle worried about how small it may be....... Thanks

On the category 11 .. you do not recieve a split bathroom,.. other than that the staterooms are somewhat comparable in size .. I hope you have a Wonderful Cruise !:earsgirl:

My wife and I just came back from a 7 day Eastern cruise on the Magic. We had a Category 11, and we never felt too crowded, and I think you will be just fine even with the additional child.

RobertsMommy - just relax, everthing will be perfect!!! You can take advantage of the secret deck (7 AFT) if you want some down time in a quiet area with sunshine, some shade also!
Plus there is so much to see and do, you probably wouldn't be spending that much time in your cabin - in fact, plan on only doing the essentials there and enjoy yourself.

Personally, I got spoiled by another category and now couldn't even think of trying another regardless. I do so love the ship!!!

We love our cat. 11 room 7127. It will be our 3rd time in it. We consist of dh, myself and ds-13. My sister had 4 in theirs (2 adults and 2 kids).

We use the "secret" deck on 7, especially in the mornings.

If you are all in the room, one way for privacy to change is to pull the curtains that separate the bed from the rest of the room.

Have fun!

We also love the Cat 11. Realistically(sp?), how often are you in your room? We were not in it much. We'd rather spend time up on deck were all the action was. It will our 3rd time in Cat 11 on our next cruise. It alway been me(14), sister(5) and mom, dad in the room. No problem at all. Me and dad would get ready and then let the girls do all the crap!lol Like Rae said, you can privacy sorta on the secret deck on 7. You should not have a problem at all.
Have a Magical Cruise Cruise,
Matt

We went on a 7 day Western last October and there were four of us....myself, DD, my DGS (11 y.o.) and his 12 y.o. cousin and we had a cat. 11. It was fine. Go and enjoy!

The bathrooms in the Cat. 11s seem roomier than the split bath (although I am sure the split bath put together would be bigger). There is a little more room in the Cat. 10s and above, but we found the Cat. 11s to be just fine (especially after someone told us that we could put our suitcases under the bed--that was after 2 cruises in Cat. 11).

We didn't spend much time in the room at all. The only thing is it is completely dark, so it is sometimes hard to know when morning comes along. But we just set out alarm for whatever time we wanted to get up, and the lack of light didn't bother us.

Once you are out and about, you really don't know who is in the Cat. 11 or the Cat 4s or whatever. We all get to enjoy the same great shows and dinners.

Enjoy your trip!

I don't know if you've ever cruised another line before, but compared to our "deluxe" cabin on RCCL our Cat 11 on DCL was huge! And we had 4 to a room as well. The privacy curtain was great. I would read at night while the kids were sleeping and the bathroom was plenty big. I've had cabins where the door scraped your knees when you were on the potty!

I now always book cat 11. It's plenty big enough for us, and we occasionally get upgraded. My logic is that you spend very little time in your cabin. Besides, the bigger the space, the more my DD will mess up!

We often did Cat. 11 until we learned about the secret porthole rooms. While I dearly love a verandah, I would not hesitate to book a Cat. 11 if I wanted to save money. I'm not a big fan of the split bathroom anyway because hubby always seems to be in the half I want. For some strange reason, they put the hair dryer in the part with the toilet instead of the shower.
We did a secret porthole room on our threepeat...that's not much bigger than a Cat. 11, but we were fine in there and it would have been just as good as an 11. We spent a lot of time in the Rainforest relaxing so we didn't miss the verandah too much. And most of the time we were on the go anyway so pretty much all we used the room for was showering and sleeping.

We are just back from the 3 night wonder cruise 2/12. Had cabin 7035 Cat 11 with 4 inside. It was a bit cozy! Our boys are 13 & 15 so not so small anymore. I wished I had brought more hangars to hang items,,, drawer and shelf space is very limited..same in bathroom only a narrow shelf above the sink and a bit of shelf space below. Also some of those suction cup hooks might be helpful. I would have also liked to have brought a clothes pin to hold the privacy curtain togther... It was nice to have a place to dress besides the bathroom!! We only used cabin to sleep and change clothes so the space was fine overall. Have a great cruise!

In November I stayed in Cat.11, deck 5 aft (LOVED that location) and our friends across the hall had a verandah. I'm not sure which category that was but the room was almost identical. They probably paid twice as much, and for me, personally, I'd rather take the cruise TWICE in a cat. 11 ! But honestly, the dimensions were almost the same. Unless you are in a family suite, there isn't a great deal of difference. It's just a little darker, but like everyone said, you're only in there to sleep and change. Believe me, by the time you hit the cabin, you're ready to sleep!

We are a family of five and for our two Magic cruises reserved two cat. 11 each time. My two sons were in one and my dh, dd and I were in the other one. Perfect.
