Catalyst Wares

Has anyone had any experience with this company? I got the link from the boards so that I could purchase a WDW CDRom. I made the order ($13) and paid $8 for express delivery. That was 12 days ago!

They sent me a confirmation of order, but no tracking number for my package. They charged my credit card so I emailed their customer service address (the only one that they give on their site) and explained the situation and asked for a tracking number or explanation for the delay. I heard no response for two days, so I emailed them again - this time stating that I would cancel payment on my credit card and write to the BBB if I didn't get a response within 24 hours. I didn't think that this was too harsh since most companies that I order from (amazon, buy, B&N) all send me tracking numbers and info regarding delays. Anytime I have a question, they send a response within hours.)

Sorry this is so long, but I figured that I would share it with all of you just in case there is something not right with this company. If you HAVE had a GOOD experience with them, please let me know as I was really getting my hopes up for this CDrom.

Ugggghhh! I just ordered the WDW Explorer from them yesterday. Now I am worried. I too have not had any experience with them in the past. Hope everything is legit. I got the confirmation email, but I think that is just generated from the website automatically. I ordered mine via Priority Mail. My card has not been charged yet, but I just ordered it yesterday evening. Please keep me posted on your status. This definitely has me a little worried ... especially since you have been waiting on your order for 12 days. YIKES!

I have never heard of this company and have never used them. I hope the delay in receiving your merchandise is just a fluke.

Well, unfortunately, it doesn't look good.

I did some research using the name that charged my credit card (Small Dog Computers) and Catalyst Wares. I found a Small Dog Electronics and called them. Long story short, they never heard of Catalyst, they never made a charge using my card number, and they said that they own the rights to the name "Small Dog" so they were glad I called because he said that it looks like a scam and that I should report it. (They were very helpful, but alas, they do not even carry the WDW Explorer.)

So, I cancelled the charge on my credit card and am going to report it to the BBB.

Bummer, but what can I say. . . I'm going to WDW in a few days so it isn't all that bad!

Duh . . . I went to BBB to file my complaint and found this notice regarding Catalyst Wares:

Basically, they are in HOT WATER with the BBB. I wish that I would have thought to check them out before. Now I know that I need to look up companies that I am not familiar with - even though I may have heard of them through a familiar source.

Great, I have been waiting for three weeks for this company to send me my stuff! Well, luckily I work for a lawfirm as a paralegal, and although I can get my money back, I am going put out some threats to them by my attorney.
