So, I am sitting here and my cat is bugging the you know what out of me, so I thought I would see what solutions the creative Disers could come up with.

My Cat has a problem, she hates to see items on tables and shelves, she likes to see everything on the floor. :scared1: I have tried a squirt bottle, but she could care less. I have tried a full blast of water, which worked, but is wayyyyy to messy. How have you fixed this problem? My cat is food motivated, so training is a possibility, but I don't even know where to begin! Help!!!!!!!!!!!!

When we had cats one of them would sit on our dresser in the morning and systematically knock everything off.
She wanted to eat.:lmao:

She knock something off and wait. If we didn't get up there goes another thing on the floor.:rotfl:

Pet store have this clicker. It can be used to train them.

How old is she, fairly young? My guess is that she's bored and wants attention.

Try alternating her regular toys and give her some new ones. Cheap toys are a coupla bendy straws tied into a "spider", plastic soda caps, etc. Take 'em away and give them back a week later. Throw in some laser light chasing, move empty bags or boxes around, ANYTHING new to inspect & explore.

Trust me, we have two bengals (one a maniac adolescent :rotfl: ) and we use every trick in the book to keep them entertained. :lmao:

Thanks for all the help guys!
She is a little over a year and she does play with her toys, the laser, and my 60lbs. dog, but for some reason knocking things down is just fun for her :confused3:...

Just a thought can you sprinkle some pepper or something spicy that she won't like smelling on the shelf. Also I once heard to put aluminum foil where you don't want a cat to go. But the foil didn't keep our cat off the top of the fish tank,so we got rid of the fish and kept the cat.

Your cat has discovered the joys of gravity and the sound things make when falling. :)

Just keep playing with her on the ground and really tucker her out. She will realize it's more fun to stay on the ground.

My cat did something similar when I forgot to fill up her bowl the night before. She found some crunchy plastic bag lying around and brought it to bed and placed it near my head. Then she proceeded to start chewing on it. Of course, the crunching sounds woke me up.

"Oh, I'm sorry, did I wake you? Well, since you're up, could you fill my bowl now? :cat:

Please do NOT ever use pepper with a cat. Some people think putting pepper in a garden will keep cats out. It is really cruel. The cat steps in the pepper, tries to lick it off & clean herself. It get into her eyes that way. You might as well pour Drano into the eyes instead. :sad2:

There are sprays specially formulated for cats, called Bitter Apple, that the cats don't like to smell.

Put some coins in an empty soda can and then duct tape the top hole. Whenever she starts knocking things off, shake that can HARD. Cats don't like the loud noise and she will start to associate the noise with her bad behavior and hopefully stop.

Put double stick tape right where they pounce on the table/shelf/etc. Works for my kitty. He was a feral cat we got about a year ago. He's tolerant of us at most. A year later he *lets* us hold him for about 30 seconds...lol. He never got up on anything but the kitchen table, so I put double stick tape on it, and now all he gets in is my computer chair. He's a persian, and I've read they don't like to jump up much, so that might be one reason he was so easy to break.
