I have 2 old lady barn cats and their teeth just aren't what they used to be. I usually feed them a mix of wet and dry food but with summer coming the wet food draws flies. Does any brand still make a soft dry food? I can't find it anymore. Thanks!

I couldn't find it anywhere and ended up feeding my kitty (who passed away in October:guilty:) those soft cat treats. He wouldn't eat canned cat food and he couldn't eat dry.

Have you considered having their teeth looked at by your vet? Dental disorders can lead to organ failure.

They are feral. They wont let ya near them. They were left here when we bought the house.

Be careful about changing their diets in one fell swoop. That could really cause digestive problems.

Most dry cat foods can be moistened and given to cats. Purina kitten chow, when warm water is added, makes "gravy." Maybe just adding a little, mixed with their moistened regular dry food be enough to soften their foods & still keep the flies away.

I think you should set traps and take them to the vet. The vet can sedate them before looking in their mouth. Just like humans, extreme lack of dental care in animals can be fatal.
