I know, right? I've always seen these things as a solution looking for a problem. Someone gave me a fancy one once, and besides needing expensive cartridges, my cat was basically afraid of it. She does not even like having a dome on it. She's very picky like that, so these things do not work for me and my cat.

I could understand for busy people with multiple cats, but I think there's other solutions.

My parents had a cat and had an early automatic litterbox that looked just like a regular one and it would use a rake to rake things to the side into a plastic container but it was quite safe compared to these things.

It's really not that hard to scoop poop out of a litter box.

Think about people with limited mobility and also health concerns regarding litter especially for pregnant women.

There are a variety of litter boxes available but best not to ignore when it's not actually easy to scoop it.
