We took in a young male cat about 6 mths ago. Sweet boy, except he still doesn't get along with our other cats. Anyway, he has taken to sleeping on my pillow and my hair at night. Last night he started biting my hair and latched on at my scalp and wouldn't let go. I tried to pry him off and he let out a low different meow. What is that all about? Is he thinking I am his woman??:lmao:

Maybe he is claiming you in some way, or he could just think that he is playing.:confused3

We have a cat that constantly licks my son's hair. It's almost as if she is grooming him. She actually gets him cleaner then when he takes a shower himself.

In our house hair biting is my cats way of saying "HEY YOU! im here. Petttt me." My aunts cat is a total groomer. He layed on the bed and licked my forehead (I was sleeping) till it was raw!

It made me a bit nervous. He wouldn't let go. I didn't know if he was going to go balistic on my head. His meow sounded kind of threatening. Weird cat.

I have been around cats my whole life and I have never had any with this behavior. As weird as it sounds, it could be something somewhat harmless like as gross as this might sound...like he may be wanting to mate. If he has not been neutered, that might be something to consider. That could also help with his interaction with the other cats.

Also, I believe cats do communicate and sometimes in what we perceive as strange ways. He could have something wrong medically and he's trying to communicate it to you.

I would recommend having your vet take a look at him just to be sure.

Then again, some cats are just bizarre. We have one that loves to be near me and sometimes touched, but she hates the other cats, tolerates the dog and my wife. But she sure loves Dad :)

I have two cats, one that is going to be around ten years old, the other is still a kitten, he is about 6 months old. They are still having their little cat fights, but I think it is more the result of the kitten wanting to play and the older cat not wanting to be bothered.

The kitten likes to stick his nose under my chin and on the side of my neck and knead with his paw. We think he is imitating nursing. We got him when he was very young, around four weeks old. Sometimes he nibbles a little. My mother calls him a vampire cat :lmao:.

I agree with a pp about neutering. If that hasn't been done, I would. It cuts down on aggressive and marking behavior.

Hopefully, he was just playing, but since it makes you uneasy, I hope you figure it out.

Sounds like the kitten was weaned too early, but it also sounds like he has a good home which makes Abe happy:)

Yes he was weened too early. My friend rescued him. He was in the road of a very busy area and cars were literally running right over him. My friend had to run out into the street to stop the traffic. He said the kitten plastered himself to the road, but when the cars were stopping he bolted right in front of one. He said he was amazed the kitten didn't get hit by that car or the ones that passed over him.

I think he might have used up his quota of 9 lives.

We just recently acquired a new cat, she's a grown (now spayed) female and she likes to nurse on us. It's so weird, but we just figure she was taken away from her mama too early and had a rough life. Poor thing was only 5 pounds when we found her starving and is now 12 pounds only a few months later! :goodvibes

Who knows why cats do the weird things that they do! :confused3

Our 6 month old kitten nurses on his own stuffed cow. He started this a few months back although he was not weaned early. Now he carries it around and when he gets tired, he lies down on it and nurses until he falls asleep:rotfl2: Btw, the cow is double his size so it's a hoot to see him carry it around.
