...make you sit/lay a certain way so they can lay on you???

Every time I am on the computer, Laila has to come and give me "the look"...its like: "assume the position"...I have to put my feet up on the desk so she can curl up on my lap!! I just can't resist!! :lovestruc

Anyone else??

Awwww, how sweet!

My cat just usually plops himself on my keyboard. He likes to be in front of me. When the 2 kittens (nearly a year old) see this, they'll usually want in my lap. It's kind of hard using the computer with 2 in my lap and one on the keyboard. After about 10 minutes of this I'll tell my husband to open a can of cat food. Next thing you know, it's like a NASCAR race in my house. As soon as that can is opened, the cats are gone and I can use my computer again. :p

Mine does not ever want to curl up on my lap so I couldn't say.

Oh, yeah. Rocko started as a 2 lb. kitten you could cradle in one arm while you surfed.

Now we have an 8 lb. gangly creature, legs hanging everywhere, who is miffed we haven't proportionately grown with him. Have to rescue him regularly from behind the monitor (still thinks he's a baby kitty).

Denise < --- is masochistic enough to get another bengal cat this week...

My 17 lb kitty does the assume the position lap thing, too. That picture looks just like us at the computer. I usually have to make him get down when he starts snoring really loud. It's too distracting.

Awww thats so sweet. You know I've been really lucky. Three of my cats, one especially like to be around me but they are always beside me. Cairo lays on the arm of the recliner when I'm sitting in it and Isis and Meeky both sleep next to me but not ON me thank goodness.

Smokey (the gray one below) insists that I lay on my right side when I go to bed so she can snuggle in between DW and me and knead my chest, purring all the while. She'll periodically revisit during the night/early morning to do the same thing. It is just NOT acceptable if I'm laying the wrong direction. She then proceeds to walk back and forth over me....walk on my pillow...until I roll over. Then she's a happy kitty once more.

My Chester likes to sleep on the computer desk right in front of the monitor - and the messier the desk, the happier he is, he likes to lay on piles of papers. :paw: He also likes us to "assume the position" on the recliner - put the footrest up and he's right on your lap. ;)

Jasmine likes to be nearby, but isn't a lap cat. She's the vocal cat. If you ask her a question, she always squeaks back the answer. And it's a very quiet, yet quite pathetic squeak. ;)

My cat, Greta, loves to cuddle after I get out of the shower. I put on my red bathrobe and she goes crazy!! She will follow me around the house, meowing loudly, until I sit on the couch with my coffee. Then she hops right into my lap, vibrating loudly and kneading paws.

This is really the only time she's interested in cuddling, so I have to assume that I wash the smell of her off in the shower and she needs to "mark" me again??? Not really sure, but it's as predictible as clockwork.

:rotfl: These are so funny....she also does it in bed...only she likes me to lay a certain way, and she wants to lay in my arm...she kneads, and kneads, purring. Sometimes she doesn't lay down though...THAT pisses me off. I'm like; all that for nothing!!? Its a cat, though!! :rotfl:

Tallulah likes to sleep with her back curled up to my stomach when we're in bed. She also has a patented move where she jumps up on the bed, and then gives me the look of "You KNOW you want to come pet me!" until I give in and come snuggle her.

Awwww :goodvibes

I was staring at that and trying to figure out where your other arm was. :confused3 Then I finally realized you were holding the camera. :rotfl:

Did I see Michelle use a bad word?? :earseek:

Nope, mine just lets me know when he wants to be loved. If he wants attention he thinks I can't pay him attention and still type. If I try to type he'll bite me.

Exactly once every day. Our cat NEVER sits on our laps, but every night, when DH gets into bed, Tigger crawls up on DH's chest for his "nightly scratching". He purrs, closes his eyes, while DH scratches his neck. Then at some point (10 seconds, 10 minutes? It varies), Tigger's eyes open, his tail starts going and he jumps up and runs away.

Also, my cat likes it when I read to her. I read To Kill A Mocking Bird to her for hours one day. she just loves it. She sits right next to me and gets this really intent look on her face. She usually goes to sleep after a few chapters. :goodvibes

I have 2 cats - female and one of them was a stray that we took in, the other a kitten we took in at 6 weeks old. Neither of them like to sit on our laps. I am thinking if getting a male cat next time :confused3  or another :dog2:

I have 3 cats. Everywhere I go throughout the house they follow me. When I am on the computer I have an extra chair next to mine. One will sit there, another one will lay by my feet. The third one will sit somewhere close by. When I am sitting on the sofa watching tv that's a different story. They sit on me, or next to me, or on the arm of the sofa. Usually at least two of them are there with me all the time. Trying to sleep at night is a real task. :rotfl:

Tigger is not very affectionate :worried: But he loves it when you watch him eat! (He is the chubbiest cat you've ever seen!) I'll post a pic if I can find one.
