I am trying to decide between a Cat. 7 and a Cat. 9 room. For the Cat. 7, I do have one of the Cat. 6 that was bumped down into a Cat. 7, so it is a open veranda partically blocked. There is a $400 difference between the two categories. Is it worth $400 for a veranda for a one week cruise? Also I was thinking I might be seasick, so maybe a Cat. 9 on deck 2 in the middle would be better. I am not sure what to do, give me some opinions, please!

I personally think it's worth the extra money for a verandah, especially for the 7-day trip. It's very relaxing to have coffee out there in the morning, or a drink after dark. We usually have lunch out there on at least one of the days at sea.

What you really need to consider is how often you will be in your cabin. If you're always on the go, and will probably only use the room to sleep, shower, and change, then you may not need to have a verandah. No use paying for it if it will go unused. If you have no problem sitting and reading for a few hours, the verandah cabin is probably the way to go.

We use ours every day, so we'd probably always get a cabin with verandah. I know others who want/need only an inside cabin, because they're never in their room.
