We need two connecting balcony cabins for our 11/06 Special Western cruise :)
I currently have 6068 and 6070 booked. Can anyone PLEASE tell me if these cabins have a "normal" balcony, meaning just plexiglass and also if they are in a good location and no obstructions. Where are the lifeboats? Will I be looking straight down on them? Thank you for ALL your help :)

6068 and 6070 are in a great location you are almost dead center of the ship, not to far from the elevator (but also not right on top of it)... you will have plexiglass on the balcony not the steel bottom :) and there are no obstructions. The Lifeboats are pushed in on the Disney ship so there are not balconies that are obstructed by them (it really is a great lifeboat design). You won't be disappointed :)

The life boats are tucked under the decks, so you will not be looking down on them. Not sure on the plexiglass part. There used to be a web-site that you could look that up. Maybe it was Daves web-site:

Just click right above this forum on Deck Plans to be connected to the best layout for deck plans on any web site. Its what I used to answer your question. You will have normal decks.

oooooh!! I also have room 6068 on the May 27th special cruise, and I'm a first-timer, also. Thanks everyone for the great info. Now, I'm really excited!!! and thanks js for the great question.

THANK YOU! I guess I won't move then. My only other concern is that what I am above. Do you think it will be too noisey since I am right above Deck 5? Thank you all.

You're above the kids clubs.

Again, click on the link above - it shows you all decks at once. Its awesome. I can't stress enough how important it is to familiarize yourself with your cruise ship prior to boarding. It gets really confusing once there.

you are above the secret passageways that they use to get the kids from one club to another and the atrium area. You shouldn't be bothered by any noise at all. We were in 6088 and had no noise issue at all. Have a great time.

We stayed in 6070 2 weeks ago, and loved the location. It was just around the corner from the elevators and stairs, right in the middle of the ship. I was amazed at how little noise there was from the connecting room (6068). We never heard anything from below or above us, just occasional yelling kids (apparently unsupervised, we saw this a lot) in the hallways. The last night was noisy too as everyone was packing up their stuff, slamming closet doors and drawers, etc. We must have been the only ones already packed and trying to sleep at 10 pm!

Thank you all.
Il-gander, did you get a lot of foot traffic by your cabin? We usually try to book cabins in the aft since we don't get lots of people passing our cabins.
Were you bothered (when in your cabin) by kids hanging out on the stairs or the elevators? Could you hear the noise? Thanks SO much!

There wasn't much noise heard from the hallways within the cabin (or at least it didn't bother us much), but I did see a lot of unsupervised kids hanging around the stairs making noise. So, yes, it was going on, but we really didn't hear much of it from inside the cabin.

We were also on the same cruise as il-gander- 6082 and rarely heard any noise at all from inside our rooms. My DH and I both were amazed that the ship rooms are much quieter than any hotel rooms we have stayed in.
