I have booked the 7 day cruise on 8/21/2004, in a Cat 4 cabin 8084, this is one of the family suites, there are 4 of us, 2 adults, DD age 11 and DS age 4, its a whole lot of money and now I'm wondering if it is really worth it. I don't mean to sound cheap, the money financially isn't a problem, but I don't want to waste money unnessesary, I want a balcony cabin, we could save a few bucks and go to a cat 5, 6, or 7 (maybe 7, not sure if there are rooms that sleep 4), its not like we don't travel, so this isn't a once in a lifetime cruise, so I wanted to check with the pros and see if its really worth it!!

I can only say that I hope it's worth it! We'll be Cat 4 when we cruise in April.

Three years ago we were on the Wonder in a Cat 5 and loved it. We opted for the Cat 4 this time because we'll be a group of 4 (instead of 3 on the Wonder) and I thought the extra room would be nice.

My DH, DD 16 and DS 14 had never cruised before and they loved it! My DH and I really enjoyed the verandah.

Yes it's a lot of money but the fun and wonderful memories will be worth it.

If finances aren't a problem...go for it and have a ball!

On our last 2 cruises we were in 8030 and our married children and their families were in the 2 adjoining family suites. Our children loved their rooms. The extra room was terrific, the verandah was great and deck 8 was very convenient to all the activities on deck 9. You will love the family suite and it will make your cruise even more special. You only live once so go for the category 4 and enjoy a great vacation.

We have done 4 cruises over the last 2 years starting with category 1 (the Roy Suite Jan.'02) followed by a category 12 (great price, spur of the moment), category 4 (the $99 follow-up special from the January 2002 cat 1) and last month in category 9. For the category 1 and 9 trips, we had our whole family which totals 7. The cat 1 was truly special but I've come to the conclusion that for us, the room type hasn't mattered much - we enjoyed each trip. The adjoining 9's with the large portholes were great - I really didn't miss a veranda as we were rarely in the rooms for any extended periods. We've found its more fun to save $ on the room and have more to spend on activites on and off the ship.

If money isn't an issue, I believe you will enjoy the extra space with 2 older children. My DW and I love a cat 4 for just the 2 of us.
I'm sure a 5 or 6 would also get you by w/o any problems. have a good trip.

We have had a Cat 4 twice, but I believe in the future for my family of three, we would go to a cat 5 or 6. Yes, the location is really handy, but I am not so sure that it was worth the price difference to us for that little extra bit of space. Just my thoughts.

I have to agrre with Prymsu. We have also done 2 cruises in Cat 4 and think in the future we would probably go for a Cat 5 or 6. Nice to have the extra room but really spent so little time there that it just did not matter
