Castway Cay

Note to self: If you start a thread make sure it's a good one.

Being a first time Disney cruiser can be hard. You have to understand we are just looking for answers. Even though the question may be silly, it's still a valid question at times.

It's not the question. I love questions. It's the titles on the thread. That's why I said I wanted to be a smart aleck and then answered the question anyway. I've answered the same questions dozens of times around here, and they're still valid. Keep asking! Just make it easier for a future person to search thread titles for something. :D

I must say that I so badly wanted to be a smart aleck when I saw the question. For one thing, I hate ambiguous titles like, "Castaway Cay". It's as bad as titles like, "What would happen if...". The smart aleck response was going to be something like, "Yeah. You have to bring your own umbrella. In fact, I'd advise bringing your own sand, because Disney charges by the cubic yard, and with Bahamas VAT added these days it's really expensive."

There are a *lot* of umbrellas. I have no idea where you'd put your own in your stateroom if you were able to bring one.

Since you were so helpful in informing the original poster of an opportunity to both more clearly title their thread and not ask innocent questions of the all mighty folks like yourself who have little time for what you perceive to be stupid or poorly titled questions, but all the time in the world to type out unfunny mini rants, I presume you are also desirous of constructive criticism. Assuming that to be the case, I thought you would like to know that you are coming across as a giant buffoon.

Hey has anyone ever...?

Yes..

I have.

Has anyone ever???

It's a funny thing People asking questions has anyone ever? On an Internet forum.

No one has to answer every thread . It's an active forum

I would have thought that's the most logical question.

Hey has anyone ever...?

Been to Mars?
Played Monopoly with Kim Jong-un?
Thought hitting you funny bone was funny?
Found out how many licks it takes to get to the center of a Tootsie Roll Pop?

:teeth:

I will take generic titles. They are harmless. It's the people who have NEVER cruised who argue with me about what's on the cruise after I have taken 7 DCL cruises that drive me up the wall.

My first thought when I read this post was that people were worried about the rain.

There are a lot of umbrellas, but if you don't get to CC early, you are likely not to get a spot under one, as people tend to put their stuff all over the shaded chairs and then decamp. We took our time getting off the ship and barely managed to get a chair at all. The family next to us had eight chairs saved and I never saw more than three of them being used at any one time.

yup- getting there early is best if possible though you can still get chairs with umbrellas though they are likely to be in the back..everyone takes the chairs and umbrellas at the near end of CC- if you walk towards the far end, near Pelican Bay, you can easily find a nice spot with an umbrella...

My first thought was that having been to other beaches, there were umbrellas, but you had to pay for them. Disney provides them, free of charge, we did not have an issue getting one when we were there.

The buffoon comment and response, priceless. Lol.

That's where we were. :-( It was April vacation week for MA/RI, though, so we had a pretty full ship.

Well, I have had posts with straightforward descriptive titles that yielded 100 views. Then I have done the same post with a nonsense title like "Phi Slamma Jamma" or a provocative yet non-informative title like "Never Believe What I Found!!!!!!!!!!" that yielded 1000 views. To original poster, I would say your title must be great, because it generated plenty of comments! You go! Phi slamma jamma!

I find this board very tame. Hang out on the community or theme parks board and then you will truly see mean and snarky.
