We like to go during free dinning how would that work can we get the castmember discount for the room and pay for the dinning or can we do both and can we stay at and Disney Hotel. any and all information would be great. One more thing can i make the reservation or does she have to do all of it.

The only way that she would be able to get a discount on hotel and the dining plan is by calling 407-WDW-CAST (407-939-2278).

If you want up to 50% off on the room she'll have to actually be on the reservation too. As in she gets a key to the world card and should be there at check-in just like you.

No experience with this CM discount rule...yet. In the past, I've checked in by myself while the other members of my family were off shopping or park-hopping. I would hand them key cards when I caught up. Does the CM have to be present to show CM ID?

Yes, the CM must be present to get the discount and must be on the reservation.

Unless you do the friends and family discount where then the CM is not in the room - it's not as nice of a discount and the CM just needs to show their ID to the resort up to ten days before the guests arrive.

You can't do the Free Dining and the Cast Discount on the same reservation, but there are certain times of year where CM's get a BIG discount on the Dining plan, plus the room discount. You will always get a better discount if she is staying in the room with you, plus she will not be able to join you for Extra Magic Hours unless she has a room key.

Your daughter can check The Hub under the Disney Difference tab to see what rates and deals are availible, and she can book the room on the site as well. Then she will need to call the Cast line to add any dining that you want. Keep in mind, that unless there is a special going on you can only get the dining plan if you are buying tickets as well.

I would say that if you are planning on utilizing your daughters complimentary admission, go with the Cast Discount and any dining that might be availible.

If you are planning on purchasing multi-day tickets, I would call 407-WDisney to see what specials are being sold on total packages.
